This shampoo was recommended to me by a sales associate at Sally Beauty. I have oily roots, and dry ends, so I’m looking for something that will help with the oiliness but not dry out my ends. It cost me $9.99 (before taxes), for a 12 oz bottle.
It smells minty, since there is menthol in the ingredients. It also tingles when you massage in into your scalp, which can be refreshing but also irritating so be wary. I didn’t notice any change in the oiliness of my scalp, but my ends got slightly more dry.
I also completely regret using it. My hair can get frizzy from the front, but this made it absolutely insane. I’m still trying to deal with how bad the frizz is now, and can’t seem to find a solution. I never had this issue before with any product, my whole life, so this is a first. Unfortunately, I’m not sure what ingredient caused the insane frizz. The sales associate was also confused.
I want to give the shampoo one lippie, but I decided to give it two lippies because it is SLS free. The ingredient list is kind of long though, so you might want to read through it. I attached the list under “ingredients” at the top.
I returned it, and will never repurchase it. I don’t know if I was just sensitive to something in the product, or what. I would advise anyone wanting to try it to keep a close watch on how your hair reacts. The frizz wasn’t too bad at first, but I didn’t know it was this shampoo. I just assumed “okay, my hair wants to get frizzy a bit today”. It got worse within just a few uses. This was the only new product in my hair care routine, so I am sure it’s what caused the frizz. Hopefully this doesn’t happen to you though. 🙂
