Just like the person below me, I don’t usually review anything but this shampoo is the worst I’ve ever had the displeasure of using and others should be warned.
The worst part of using this junk is the fact that it coats your hair in this awful WAXY, GREASY, STICKY residue, like it hasn’t been washed in months. It leaves hair feeling and looking like absolute cr@p, which does nothing for one’s confidence (especially one who is already experiencing some scalp and hair issues). Imagine the whole scalp is weighed down with heavy, sticky wax and the ends are dry and frizzy – it’s super gross to touch and look at and doesn’t feel clean AT ALL. I could only use it a few times before my hair felt so disgusting I just couldn’t justify using the rest of it, so in the bin it went today. I’m now going to have to buy a clarifying shampoo to get rid of this disgusting wax build up this god awful shampoo has left on my hair (I wonder how many washes it’s going to take to wash it out).
For $24, I expected this product to atleast get rid of some flaking and itching (like it claims) but it really struggles to do even that – I still see some flakes straight after washing my hair and my scalp is still itchy. Now, I bought this same shampoo and conditioner about 1 year ago and it didn’t leave this disgusting residue and actually helped my dandruff I sometimes get. They have clearly changed the ingredients. I hate this product and will never buy any head and shoulders product ever again. Complete waste of time and money, avoid at all costs.

I am not one to write reviews, but I feel so strongly about this product I believe I have a duty to warn other consumers about how awful it is.
This product left my hair so GREASY and STICKY feeling, like it had not been washed in WEEKS! I even blow dried hopeing that would help, to no avail. I then thought maybe somehow I did not rinse well enough so I washed it again rinsing for about 6mins to be sure that all was gone and still just as oily.
I hated this product and would not recommend it to anyone.

I really like this stuff for my dry scalp. I get super dry patches above my forehead and behind my temples, and after a couple days of using this stuff it goes away. I always keep a bottle in my shower.

Hair type: fine, previously color treated but not in the past 6 months, medium-length. I wash my hair with shampoo & conditioner every time I shower.
I love this shampoo & conditioner combo. It smells… okay. Good for a dandruff shampoo I guess. But I love the way it works on my hair. My scalp doesn’t ever get itchy or flaky when I use this stuff. I don’t heat style my hair at all & when I wash my hair with these products, it looks good. The shampoo & conditioner cost around $5 each for the 13.5fl oz size, which is affordable.
The only problem I have with this line is it is owned by a brand that tests on animals. I’m about to venture into the world of cruelty-free dandruff shampoo & conditioners. Hopefully I can find ones that work as well for my hair as Head & Shoulders does.

I have a dry, itchy scalp and I’ve been trying to find shampoos that may help.
I figured maybe this would help since head and shoulders is known for helping dry itchy scalps in general so I figured the version for dry scalps should definitely help.
However, it hasn’t helped at all. I like the smell and rubbing it in feels nice, but I haven’t noticed the slightest difference.
I’ll have to try a different brand.

I used this when I was a kid living in the hot state of New Mexico which plagued me with really oily hair and dandruff. I have since then used higher ends shampoos on and off with much satisfaction. After living in Alaska for some time where the winter’s are really dry I have not had any dandruff (seems to only happen in really hot weather) but have developed an itchy scalp where my head also gets this tight, uncomfortable feeling right after washing. I use the conditioner paired with this and my hair is left soft, clean and really managable. I will never be afraid to let people know that I use the icky blue, medicated shampoo.

I don’t not suffer from dandruff BUT I do get the dry scalp itch and this worked amazing for that!! This lathered up & rinsed out well & it smells so good! This left my dry,colored hair soft!! This shampoo didn’t strip my color out either!! I got this from Influenster to test out & I definitely see big bottles of this in the future for me I really love it!!**This will be great for winter use when the scalp itching really kicks in! My husband and my 16yr old son suffer from dandruff and I had them try it as well and they loved it too! I was highly impressed with this shampoo and I highly rec it even if you don’t have dandruff.

I have been having flaky scalp for nearly a year now. and I have tried Tar shampoo, ketoconazole shampoo , garnier and many others but nothing could get rid of my flakes except this one. I used this last week and almost 80% flakes were gone. I have had bad experience with this before, (not this particular one, the original blue one , years ago) i had bad hair falling and even now I have hair fall issues.
So I am very careful with shampoos and use very mild ones, I have heard that H&S are some what aggressive so I avoided it for years. My dandruff may have been a big trigger factor for my hair loss too.
I use only a little amount at a time , diluted with water before applying it on my scalp . It doesn’t give a good feeling as if its cleansing my hair while shampooing, didnt lather much like other shampoos. But after washing it off, and drying, my hair is quite good .. its soft and no flakes(yaay) I used my usual Herbal essence lavender conditioner afterwards.
So overall, I REALLY like this. I will keep using this for sometime and I’ll update later. 🙂 So far, its good.

I think this is great, amazing even. I had been struggling with dandruff and an itchy scalp for quite some time now. I tried to combat it by rinsing my head with cold water but that only helped so much. it got so bad that every time I would scratch my head, some dandruff would end up under my nails and on my shoulders. I’ve never really been finicky with what shampoo I use, so i’d just use whatever was in the shower, which started to make my scalp even worse and it would actually burn when I would apply shampoo because of all of the scratches on my scalp. one day I saw this shampoo in the shower and decided to give it a try; gosh I am so happy that I did. immediately, it soothed my scalp. i lathered it on my head and rinsed it out and decided to skip conditioner just to see how it worked on its own. i have very long, dark, straight hair that gets tangled extremely easily.. this shampoo made my hair so soft that i had no trouble combing it with a fine toothed comb after i got out of the shower. ugh i love it.
Pros: -smells amazing and the scent lasts all day even if i blowdry and straighten my hair. my bf always says how good my hair smells.

– soothes scalp and got rid of about 90% of my dandruff
i have been using this shampoo for about 3 weeks now and i have no complaints. i can only imagine how much better my scalp will get if i keep using it. i only apply this to my scalp and just add a bit to my ends to get a nice clean, then just add my fav conditioner to my ends and avoid my scalp, this seems to work the best for me. i also rinse with cold water since cold water helps keep hair shiny hot water dries your scalp up even more. if you’re having issues with dandruff but more importantly a dry, painful scalp, or even just want a really delicious smelling shampoo, please give this a try!:)
**UPDATE**
IT IS NOW FEBRUARY 1ST, 2016, a bit more than a month since my last review. I just wanted to update everyone and let you guys know that I’ve continued use with this product and now I am completely cleared of my itchy scalp and dandruff. there is not one flake in sight and I have to thank this shampoo for that. it’s an amazing product and worked wonders for me. i’m extremely satisfied

I do not have dandruff, but I have a super itchy scalp. Now that it is winter, it is even worse. I wash my hair every third day. Before this shampoo, my newly shampooed scalp would start itching as soon as my hair was dry, even if I let it air dry. So, I decided to try this Head and Shoulders formulation for dry scalp. The difference is amazing. Occasional itching, but nothing like before. The conditioner is good, too. I have colored hair and this shampoo does not appear to cause excessive stripping or fading. Happy I gave up my high end shampoos and conditioners for this.
