I see a lot of others on here had trouble with this shampoo and conditioner, but like any shampoo/conditioner, it’s going to work differently for each person. I have extremely thin, long, and very blonde hair. I LOVE this shampoo/conditioner. It does not weigh my hair down or darken the color, which is very important to me. And, I think it has just a hint of texturizer or something because my hair is fluffy and grips slightly after I blow dry. I do also use pureology’s “volume amplifier” (it’s like a volume serum or light weight gel) before blow drying, so maybe that’s how I get the extra fluff. That being said, I have used the pureology volume amplifier with lots of other volume shampoo/conditioners and never got the fluffy results that I do with the Tigi Highness. Personally, I hope they never discontinue this stuff!

The first time I used this shampoo I thought it was ok. However, over the past few days I have noticed my hair is incredibly limp, weighed down and quickly becomes greasy. I could not understand what had caused this. I have realised that it is this shampoo which causes build-up. I will not be repurchasing.

I have thick hair and oily scalp. My hair tends to be flat on the top. Yuck!! I hate this shampoo. This shampoo makes my hair feel heavy. It does give volume but my hair strands and the ends are dry amd strawy feeling. It tangles my hair. It’s so difficult to brush my hair. Besides my fell out in the shower while I rinse it. This shampoo needs to be discontinued

It gives my hair volume I won’t deny it, but it sure gives you straw like and greasy hair too after a couple times you keep using it. Don’t buy this.

This shampoo seems to work like a dream on healthy hair and seems to be a disaster for damaged hair. Whenever my hair is in good shape, this one quickly climbs the (very competitive!) hierarchy of my shelf of hair care products, and becomes my favourite. It leaves my hair shiny and thick, very clean and party ready. When my hair is damaged though, it tangles my hair and dries it to straw, and leaves me in tears. I actually can’t shake the thought that this shampoo is the _cause of my recurring hair damage. I used this and John Frieda’s luxurious volume shampoo exclusively for about a year before my hair became a dry mess. Still going to leave a good rating, because I’m currently loving it. I’ll probably be back in a couple of months to change my rating to a one star one.

I have tried TONS of shampoos and conditioners, and TIGI Your Highness is by far the WORST. It left my hair sticky, limp, lifeless, full of residue, and difficult to manage. My hair literally felt and looked like straw after using it. I threw both the shampoo and conditioner away after only one use. A huge waste of $30 🙁

If there is one thing I absolutely hate in a shampoo it’s sneaky residue. Oh, sure, it’s fine the first time, even the second time… you think you like it. Then one day you can’t figure out why your hair looks greasy as hell. You wonder if you forgot to rinse out conditioner. Nope, your shampoo leaves a build up.
While this is not the most egregious build up I have ever encountered (ahem, L’ Oreal Royal Jelly, I’m looking at you) it’s enough to make this product completely useless.

As I’m a hairdresser I had been recommended by 2 colleagues to try this shampoo& conditioner,as we all have fine hair. The first time I tried this I thought the smell was amazing as most Tigi products do. The consistency was quite thick and it defiantly left my hair feeling thicker I was blown away untill…. The third or fourth time I used it… It all when down hill (I wash my hair every other day) well it made my roots greasy within an hour.it left a horrible HORRIBLE coating/build up on my hair which made it really hard to blow dry. I also couldn’t run my fingers through my hair without it pulling half my hair out, big massive thumbs down.

I got this product for free, from a friend who is a hairdresser. She had a few extra Tigi Your Highness products and asked me if i wanted to try them. I tried the shampoo, conditioner, hairspray and thickening gel. I’m glad that I didn’t pay anything for it. I’ll start with the pros:
For one, the smell is amazing. It smells like a vanilla cookie or something. And, if you have hair that needs volume or fine, thin, hair it might be great for that. But, unfortunately this did not work for me at all. Both the shampoo and conditioner left my hair feeling greasy and full of residue. I ended up having to wash it all over again with Dove just to get rid of the feeling. Nice smell, just doesn’t work for me.
I wasn’t a fan of the hairspray or thickening gel either. I gave those to my sister, who has very thin hair. They both work great for her, so maybe the product is best for someone with thin, fine hair.

My hair: fine textured but a lot of it; roots get greasy really quickly; long (mid-back length); natural medium-darkish blonde, but have lighter blonde highlights.
My routine: shampoo and condition daily; mainly use sulfate-free TIGI products; blowdry daily and use straighteners (not all over, just to neaten up areas that need it).

So disappointed with this shampoo! I wanted a lightweight, volumising formulation that would effectively cleanse my oil-prone roots whilst being gentle to my fine, drier lengths. Because my hair is fine textured and blonde, any grease at the roots is particularly evident – making my hair flat and slightly darkened.
This range sounded ideal for my needs. What it claims:
“For body and movement. Properly cleansed and flexible hair is the fabric essential to create beautiful volume. This decadent sulfate-free formula infused with Lavender, Wisteria, Jasmine & Violet imparts a fresh, lightweight finish.

The shampoo has a cloudy, opaque gel-type texture and it has a very sugary smell (lovely – but not what I expected from a shampoo which promotes a floral content.) I used a small amount and shampooed twice (I’ve found this technique useful when using other TIGI shampoos – to split the application into two tiny doses, rinsing after each.) It lathered quite well and I rinsed like crazy, but even when I was still in the shower I could feel my hair had been coated. I prolonged my rinsing and the filminess just wouldn’t budge. Smoothed some of the matching conditioner onto the ends, but I felt that the damage had been done – I knew a bad hair day was in store. When I combed my hair through prior to drying, I found that it detangled very easily. But it took longer than usual to blowdry. After styling, my hair looked limp and I had that sinking feeling – of knowing I’d have to face the day with slightly greasy/dirty-feeling hair.
Maybe those with very thick, coarse, thirst-quenched hair would benefit from this shampoo. Though that is clearly not the market being targetted by a supposedly ‘lightweight, volumising’ formulation.
