I use both shampoo and conditioner. Although the shampoo is sulfate free, it has a very nice lather and doesn’t leave any film or residues. Has a light floral scent which I like. I definitely noticed an improvement using both products. Hair is much softer, manageable, less dull and less frizzy (my hair is thick and curly). In my opinion, I’m getting better results than with anything kerastase! Will definitely repurchase both shampoo and conditioner!

This is the best shampoos & conditioner set I have found for coloured hair. This product has made my colour remain looking like it is fresh from the salon and has really made my hair feel so much softer and healthier. Although this product is on the pricier side it preserves colour perfectly meaning I don’t have to go to the salon for touch ups as often, saving me a lot more in the long run.
Also, I think it is important to note that less is more with this product. You really only need the smallest amount, and it has much better results than over applying it.

EDITED 2/25/18- Well I ran out of my Kerastase and used only Magnetics for the past month and I am downgrading this to 2 lippies. I’m really starting to hate it now. My hair looks like crap most of the time and dry and flat and it never feels really clean. It also has zero volume. So my conclusion is is sucks unless you alternate with another good shampoo. I’ve used Kerastase many, many years and I doubt I am ever going to stop. I’ve tried so many others, I don’t know why I even bother. This smells good and if you rotate it with others it’s nice. Used as the only one both the shampoo and the conditioner are bad
This is the first sulphate free shampoo and conditioner I have used. My hair is thick, blonde and i get highlights every 4-5 months. I just repurchased the shampoo and conditioner in the largest size when Ulta had them on sale recently.
This smells so good. I love the scent. It’s a decent shampoo. It doesn’t dry my hair out and gives it plenty of body but the one thing I don’t like about it is that after I use it several times I start feeling like it’s not really cleaning my hair well or like it is building up. So i alternate with Kerastase after I’ve used this about 10 times, just to help eliminate any build up. It doesn’t take much to suds my whole head, but since it’s sulphate free I always feel the need to shampoo twice. I also use the conditioner and it’s ok. Don’t expect a heavy conditioning treatment from it, if your hair is really dry, use another product that is a deep conditioner or mask that you leave on for 30 minutes or so. Neither the shampoo or the conditioner weigh my hair down or make it oily.
Years ago, I was a huge fan of Redken products, then they dropped all of the ones I liked and came out with tons of new ones and I never liked any of them. This is the first one in many years that I have repurchased. I’m really not sure if it makes my highlights fade less. I still like my Kérastase better, even though my hair stylist swears by the Redken Sulphate free Magnetics, so after I finish the 2 large sizes I will decide whether to stick with it or dump it, but for now, I’m liking it and it does smell really nice.

I have the kind of Asian hair that takes well to coloring (currently ash brown) to add texture and volume to my hair, which I curl every other day. I find this shampoo prevents my scalp from getting overly oily between washes due to it’s moisturizing formula without weighing it down. I used to alternate shampoo’s and I can definitely tell this to be true about this Redken Color Extend Magnetics.
Just bought the 1000ml after my regular shampoo bottle finished.
Will update if anything changes over prolonged use.

I read a few reviews of hair feeling heavy and gunky after using this product. I cannot emphasize enough, DO NOT use too much conditioner. It is light and you’ll want to pile it on but don’t. That’s how you get the heavy feeling. I did it on my first use and was almost convinced that the product was a flop. I went back to the bathroom, gave it a serious rinse, then conditioned again on my ends only. I rinsed it well and dried my hair. Problem solved. I just used too much and didn’t rinse well enough the first time.
I do wish it was a bit more moisturizing but my hair is also heavily damaged. My weekly Heavy Cream treatment helps, as does the All Soft leave-in. I haven’t used the Color Extend long enough to speak on color retention but as a fake, vibrant redhead, it’s done well will the few uses so far. I’ll update if it changes.

I used both the shampoo and conditioner from this line together. Although I liked what this did for my hair, it was moisturizing, I had no tangles after just shampoo, smelled fantastic, it also broke me out terribly, on my face, scalp and neck. I tried washing my skin after I used these products, and still had painful breakouts everywhere. Such a shame, as otherwise I enjoyed both products.

I love this shampoo! I noticed that many of the reviewers that gave this a low rating have fine or blonde/highlighted hair. I probably would’ve hated this when I bleached my hair too. It’s very rich and emollient, and will probadly even darken blonde hair and definitely will weigh fine hair down.
That said, my hair is super thick, healthy but naturally dry, and dyed to a very dark purplish red shade, so I needed something that would be ultra gentle and ideally moisturizing too, and this is both!! It leaves my hair super smooth, soft, and shiny, and my color is vibrant. But I probably have enough hair on my head for two people and the strands themselves are thick (bordering on coarse) too, so I can definitely see how this might be too heavy for some. It gets a 5 star rating from me, and if you have similar hair, I suggest giving it a try!

I used the shampoo & conditioner. This was awful.
My hair was tangled, it felt dried out (which is unacceptable considering a) the price and b) that my hair is already dead to begin with), and my hair was even more weak after usage of this product. Granted this is not the most expensive product on the market, put it certainly is not the cheapest either.
Below is a description of my hair problems, in case you need context.
I badly wanted highlights and let the stylist bully me into getting a bronze base. I wanted sandy golden streaks throughout my whole head on my natural dark chocolate base. This is how I did my hair in high school and I rocked it. The stylist insisted a base was necessary. I shouldn’t have listened. I got stuck with an orange base that I did not want. I had strong, healthy hair at the shoulder length I wanted. By getting that ugly base I was stuck. I had to touch it up or it would look even worse. Fast forward 2 full years later. After several stylists I decided nobody was giving me what I wanted. So I just had my entire hair dyed black (and let it fade to it’s natural color).
As you can imagine, my hair was severely damaged after 2 years of dying it multiple times. For awhile I was getting my orange ugly base dyed it’s natural chocolate brown, but whenever I used the P treatments to keep my blonde from getting brassy, the base would change. So..I caved and decided to buy premium shampoo and conditioner.I was not impressed with this line.

Having been a Redken fan since the age of 16 (I am 27 now), I was excited to try this range. I’ve always wanted to switch to a sulfate free shampoo, and I had heard good things about these products. I ended up buying the shampoo and conditioner – unfortunately as much as I wanted to love this product, I just didn’t. My hair is normal thickness with blonde foils. The scent was synthetic and unappealing and my hair still felt unclean after two thorough shampoos. I also felt it did not preserve my colour as much as the original colour extend products – my ash foils looked brassy after a few washes. Once I blow dryed my hair, I could feel a slight film and my hair was greasy the next day. Trust me, if you’re after a sulfate free shampoo I would instead recommend Kevin Murphy or Pureology. Don’t waste your time with this one girls!

I used this shampoo after dying my hair for the first time with highlights. I liked it and it kept my hair vibrant and clean. But I gave it a three for personal reasons. I am following the more natural route now and although it worked its purpose I would not buy it again because I am doing a natural routine.
