Has a pleasant scent. I found this shampoo to be quite drying on my fine dry hair. I used this with the matching conditioner and did was not impressed with the results. There are some drugstore shampoos that are better than this product.

UPDATE August 4th. I hate the last bottle of this shampoo that I’ve bought a month ago. It smells terrible, artificial, strong, nothing like the conditioning balm. It makes my fine hair feel very hard and tangle a lot. The conditioner is managing well to detangle, but the top of my head where I do not put the conditioner is a mess. Also, the ends of my always soft hair are scratching my back. Don’t buy.
Original review:
I’m a minority here but I actually really like this shampoo. I use it with the Hydrasource conditioning balm and enjoying the combo.
For the reference, my hair is fine (very thin hair strands), frizzy, wavy, highlighted, mid-length.
Pros:
– I like the scent (the same as the balm, light and pleasant) and the fact that it doesn’t linger;
– it cleans my hair really well;
– it lathers well, I like shampoos that lather;
– it doesn’t mess up my scalp, now I have absolutely clear scalp with no flakes no rashes. I usually have both and I’ve used many products in my life starting from cheap ones like a Garnier all way up to Oribe/Rahua;
– it makes my hair look shiny and healthy;
– no buildup;
– no silicones (wavy hair people who don’t try to straighten their hair usually appreciate having no silicones).
Cons:
– there is no way I can brush my hair through without the conditioning balm. I also have to wait for my hair to air dry before attempting touching my roots that for obvious reasons were not covered by the balm.
Already repurchased.

This is a nice shampoo with pleasant but mild fragrance. It is not nearly as good as the conditioner in the same brand, but I would use it again, if it was on sale. Nothing special though. I had thought since I liked the conditioner I might love the shampoo also, but nothing like that love happened!!! I love the fragrance.

Complete garbage!

Unfortunately I was really disappointed with this product. As it was so expensive, I was expecting it to deliver results but it made my hair feel dull, dry and lifeless. It also had a really strong unpleasant scent, I would not recommend this product, especially for those with thick, damaged hair. Matrix total results range seems to be much better but I still wouldn’t use their products regularly.

For some reason this made my hair dryer than what it originally was. I absolutely love the conditioning balm but the shampoo is horrendous! I got huge flakes because of it , I’m going to have to return it.

This shampoo made my hair feel stripped and dried out. I will not buy it again. The deep conditioner on the other hand was pretty good.

I do have grey hair that is colored and highlighted. It is on the dry side, though it is in good shape. It is not at all dried out like straw. This shampoo worked fine the few times I used it. I usually wash my hair one time a week. I then had to start washing more often due to a change of routine. As I washed to twice a week with this shampoo, I noticed that my scalp was itching and my hair was getting drier. I stopped using it,. I switched to a different regime and my scalp feels better now. My hair looks healthier I also realized that this is a volumizing shampoo which is better to use for oily hair since it has a drying effect. This, for my type of hair, just dries it out. It does volumize but then it is too “fluffy” which does not look good on me. So, I end up with dry looking and feeling, “fluffy” hair. I would not buy this again

Absolutely the best reconstructive conditioner I have ever used !!

Bought this on sale with an additional coupon. Was excited to try it as I’ve heard great things about biolage, however, this shampoo and conditioner were at best average. I’m also noticing more hair shedding in the shower than normal. I am not sure if this has anything to do with the shampoo or another reason (I have recently dyed my hair and have used the l’oreal conditioner too in the past few weeks). I would not recommend this product.
