I really wanted to like this shampoo. It smells great, and the twist top dispenser is cool. But it dried out my ends and left greasy buildup at the same time! I do live somewhere with hard water, but the shampoo doesn’t lather at all and feels much thicker in consistency than other shampoos. A pity. I will be clarifying with my trusty Bumble and Bumble sunday shampoo and replace this with something more gentle.

It is a very good shampoo, cleans the hair easy and smells divine. Adds shine

I’ve never used a sulfate-free shampoo at home just because my scalp is oily and I’ve wasn’t sure it would clean it. My hair is single-process blonde and a little dry from mid to ends.
Wow! This is really great! My hair feels quite soft and clean and my scalp is just fine. It’s a bit thick and takes a little longer to lather up. It rinses out okay but hair doesn’t have a slick, clean feeling so I had to get used to that. Bought it at Ulta with coupon but in future will prob order larger size online for savings.

I’ve been using Bamboo Shine Shampoo and conditioner for a couple of years now, and I still love it. I can no longer find it in salons or brick-and mortar shops, which is starting to make me paranoid because I don’t want to have to switch — that’s how attached I am!
The shampoo has a light fragrance and lathers well. It’s not drying at all. The conditioner leaves my hair shiny and silky. I just use about a half teaspoon or so on the bottom half of my hair (my hair is about shoulder length).
Friends have asked me what I do to make my hair so shiny, and I think it must be this shampoo/conditioner (although I also use Paul Mitchell PM Shines color now and then).
I get the two together on Amazon for about $25 dollars, which isn’t the cheapest, but nowhere near what some brands cost.
Update 6/1/16: I bought this in a huge pump on Amazon and saved big.

I would go as far to say that I love this shampoo. I’ve only been using it for a few weeks so far, but I have seen amazing results. I have fine hair, but it is very dry too, and I need something moisturizing without being too heavy. I was originally debating between the Alterna Bamboo shine shampoo or the moisturizing one, and I am very glad I purchased the shine one. It really does make hair shiny and soft, and it is safe for color treated hair as well, which is a must for me. My hair is noticeably shinier and smoother with less frizz, while still able to hold volume. My husband ran out of his shampoo a couple weeks ago, so he used my Alterna shine shampoo, and he liked how soft his hair was with this so he decided to use it instead of getting more of his old shampoo. As far as the packaging goes, I like it overall. It would be nice if it were in a pump form, but the squeeze tube is not too hard to work with, and the packaging is sturdy enough to where it doesn’t fall out all at one time so you can control the amount you want to come out. In terms of shine and moisture, this is my favorite shampoo.

I have been using Alterna’s Caviar Moisture Shampoo for almost two years now (might be my HG shampoo!) and decided to switch to the Bamboo Luminous Shine Shampoo mainly because it’s half the price! The ingredients seem as good and I love the smell! This shampoo is very fresh smelling like a cross between lemongrass and watermelon. Yummy! I think it’s somewhat comparable to the caviar shampoo in terms of how gentle it is on hair. The only negative is that it isn’t moisturizing enough for my thirsty hair! I will try a different shampoo from the Bamboo series once I’m done with this bottle, just to see what the others are like. And I don’t know why so many people dislike the packaging – I love it! It’s so convenient to twist open, squeeze out the shampoo and twist close. Plus it looks cute too!

I recently got the Brazilian keratin treatment so I needed a shampoo that was free of sulfates and sodium chloride. I also needed it to be gluten free. And behold I found this at sephora. I now purchase this off of vitacost.com because it is much cheaper there. This stuff smells sooooo good I love to use it. It lathers very very well which surprised me for a SLS free shampoo. I do not use the matching conditioner as I use the Garnier sleek and shine because its so much cheaper. Oh and I personally LOVE the packaging it’s so convenient and pretty.

I love this shampoo, conditioner and shine cream. I’ve tried a lot of sulfate free shampoos but this is the only one that feels like it’s getting my hair clean. Some of the others felt like they left a residue on my hair but not this one. It lathers and rinses clean leaving my hair shiny and softly scented.
I love the smell. It’s an earthy scent and not floral like so many others.
I’m not a fan of the caps on the bottles but it won’t deter me from buying this again.

After trying so many different shampoos this is the only one I will ever use. It is a little pricey but it’s totally worth it.
I have fine hair with color treated ends and a lot of shampoos strip my hair and leave it so dry. This product leaves my hair clean but not dried out and it looks healthier than ever.
If it’s having trouble lathering my hairdresser said to cup a tiny bit of water in your hands and add it to where the shampoo is. It works every time. It doesn’t get super sudsy but that doesn’t mean it’s not working.
I love the packaging and have never had an issue with the twist cap.

This product worked very well for my fine colour-treated hair. It was very gentle and washed out well without any leftover residue. The only problem that I had with it (and what what I’ve read what others have had too) is the cap doesn’t work well.
Alterna really needs to fix the cap.
