   The scrub is okay, but for ~$40 USD, I’d expect it to be extraordinary. It’s not. -_-

   Reason 1: the ridiculous packaging. It is wide at the bottom, and fairly tough, rubbery plastic. Fairly resistant to slipping of a shelf and shattering into million pieces. However, the narrower opening makes it difficult remove the product the product from the jar. I have to literally cup or curl my fingers and scrape at the sides to get product out, once i had scooped out the middle part.

   Reason 2: The directions on the jar/tub says to apply to dry skin, which is a ridiculous proposition when using during shower or bath. Would would anyone apply to dry skin before shower or bath, only to have it washed away by cleanser? Or, would Kopari prefer we shower, dry off, scrub, then rinse, and dry ourselves of again? Does Kopari think we have nothing more to do in life than maintain elaborate cleansing rituals? Plus, it is not easy to apply to the skin, dry or wet. It is crumbly when my skin is dry, and doesn’t stay on long enough to get a good exfoliation. It is slippery and clumpy when my skin is wet, and only stays on slight longer when applying it on my skin. Some smartaleck at some online beauty website says “it’s not hard to understand that one should warm the product for it to work.” Really? Given its impossible, unmanageable, texture – HOW?!!! By heating the entire container over an open flame??!! And, wouldn’t the product automatically heat up from contact with your body, especially while it being rubbed or massaged into the skin? We are warm blooded beings, aren’t we??!! (BTW, I recently tested the theory by rubbing a small amount between my fingers and applying it to my skin. It becomes a stick mess and is a still a pain to massage onto my body.) Plus, it makes a huge, grainy, brownish-muddy, mess in my bathtub and is an absolute pill to wash away and down the drain. And, yes, it does make the bathtub slippery.

   Reason 3: Please don’t get me started on its good for you ingredients. Now, I am not particular about vegan products or a chemical police (because, really, even water is a chemical.. made up millions of molecules each comprising 2 hydrogen atoms binding to an oxygen atom), but not everything in it is natural, organic (except for the coconut oil), or vegan:

   – Sucrose, Cocos Nucifera(Coconut) Oil, Isopropyl Palmitate (Palm Oil), Beeswax, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Shell Powder, Silica, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Caprylyl/Capryl Glucoside, Fragrance (Parfum), Tocopherol, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Aloe BarbadensisLeaf Extract.

   BTW, many people say palm oil (one of the ingredients) is bad for you and the environment. You want a natural and organic scrub that safe for you skin? Buy a big tub of organic coconut oil and brown sugar from your local Sam’s Club or Costco, mix the two together, and voila! You have a coconut, melty, good for you, scrub – and it would much cheaper per use!

   Reason 4: you have to use a huge amount to cover even a small area of your body. I use it sparingly, only on areas that need special attention, and certainly not every day. Maybe once a week. I think you can it use on your face, but I have not. Homemade version would work well for face as well.

   Yeah, sure this product smell nice, but not enough to spend 40 bucks on. Momentary stupidity convinced me to “buy” into the hype and buy this product, though with discount. Don’t make the same mistake I did by buying this product!!! Save your money by not buying into the hype. In fact, just buy organic coconut oil from the store and avoid the whole coconut melty product line. Kopari brand is an absolute rip-off, taking advantage of consumers’ desire to do good things for themselves and for the environment, by selling over-hyped, over priced, organic oil. Ridiculous!
