   pros:
   – good silicone primer – smoothes skin for the application of foundation and extends the wear of my foundation
   – brightens the face somewhat

   cons:
   – expensive

   i like this primer, it does the job, but i won’t repurchase due to the price and the fact that revlon photoready primer is about $20 cheaper and basically does the same thing for me.

   This is perfect for those no-makeup days! I put a light coat on over my sunscreen and it works great to even out skin tone and mattify. Love it.

   I have the Universal Superprimer in White. I tend to get a reaction to most silicone-based primers so if I can’t get hold of my favourite – Gale Hayman Youth Lift Plus – I usually try to get a primer with a very similar consistency to it. This Clinique one is similar in texture but for the measly amount you get in the tube I am not impressed. I’m now so disillusioned with primers I’m now mostly skipping using one in favour of a BB cream or a moisturiser that doubles as a primer, such as Eucerin Aquaporin Light. I do like my multi-functional products…

   I use the yellow one for redness. I like this primer, though I do not think it corrects redness very well. Foundation goes on better and it looks like my skin is better when I use it. It really minimizes pores and little lines. Other primers do that too. It dries powdery and foundation glides on easy afterwards and sets well,.which I like I am using Laura Mercier Silk right now. Powder doesn’t look good on me hours later, as I look better dewey. I don’t think the super primer is dewy at all, but it’s not caky either. It sets my foundation without giving me that frighting look that powder does. I only took off a point because it does not correct redness very well. It is not cheap either, but you use very little. So I think a tube would last a long time. I am just really happy with how my make up is looking when I use this and if I don’t I doesn’t look quite as good. I think this works really well. When I don’t use it, my mu slides off my spf. I wish it had a little SPF, so I didn’t worry about putting between spf moisturizer and foundation with some spf.

   I have the yellow one for redness as they were out of the pink one when I went. I really like it. I use powder foundation and this will blur out my imperfections making my foundation look smoother. It definitely makes my makeup last longer, and my skin feels great with it on.

   I have the one for redness – yellow bottle. I was really disappointed in this, it pills on your skin, doesn’t apply well at all and doesn’t do much in terms of keeping your makeup look nicer, didn’t notice a considerable difference in my redness either.

   I wore bobbi brown skin over top of this last night and it’s a pretty dewey foundation/light coverage and it looked cakey and powdery overtop of this primer. Yuck.

   I stumbled upon this new Clinique product in my local Planet Parfum store in Belgium. My first skeptical thought was ‘Jesus! Looks like the era of primers has come!’. —Having said that, maybe let me explain the background first. I m a make-up junkie and follow everything I can find about it and, of course, I follow religiously Lisa Eldridge s videos and advises. (Liking/knowing this lady isn t mandatory for reading of this review.) In one of her early website videos (see the link 1) she seems to prefer a simple moisturizer rather than a primer, in a recent video (see the link 2) posted on the UK’s ELLE website, she appears to be a bit pressured by the make-up industry to make some more explanation on the new primers. And this new Clinique primer was one of the example products. —
   As for the product, the Colour Corrects Dullness version has a light rose colour and a creamy scent. The most interesting is however the consistency: dry-ish cream which becomes slightly powdery when applied on the skin. Don’t know if it makes any sense but you can probably test it in any store and see it for yourself. First time I think I rubbed it too much and finished with some talc like powder on my sleeves, so don’t rub it too much! Apply where required and gently press it in the skin surface. (I prefer to do it with my fingers, works well for me) You won’t see any moisture or oiliness after, just nice smooth skin. I don’t however know yet if I like it as I’ve used only a couple of times. It definitely evens out some irregular skin texture and doesn’t alter my foundation (YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat) but as I don’t have any particular skin problem I may not be the best example. I’ll certainly post an update in the future. For those who also live in Belgium, unfortunately, there are only 3 colours available in store: Universal Face Primer (white), Colour Corrects Dullness (rose) and Colour Corrects Discolourations (light beige).

   UPDATE 10/10/2013: I continued to try it out but as I don’t have particularly dull skin using this primer makes my face look too much powdery for my taste. I don’t want to remove any lippies as it’s not product/quality related, wouldn’t buy it again for the same reason. I’m going back to my recently discovered Givenchy’s Acti’Mine 🙂
