My skin has been extremely oily lately and I was on the hunt for a nice mattifying product. I was intrigued by this product because people swear it keeps them matte all day. I typically shy away from primers because I had a bad experience with those slippery, porefessional types.
How did this hold up? Well… I’m glad the texture was not disgusting. However, I feel like I could do without this product. It made my face nice and matte upon application, but it only held up my oil around 1-2 hours longer than without primer. After my oil started seeping through, it felt heavy and I had to blot my face a usual. It didn’t seem to make my foundation application smoother either. I will continue to use up this tube, maybe I will have a change of heart as time goes on.

I couldn’t figure out what, in my makeup routine, was causing my pores to look HUGE. Switched up products and after some trial and error it turned out to be this primer. I think it’s probably great for really oily skin, but if you’re combo/leaning toward dry I would avoid.

I really like this primer alot! I am a makeup junkie and although I use a few different primers, this one is my go to. I’ve used it with high end and drugstore foundations and it works beautifully with them all. It keeps the oils at bay in my T-zone and fills in my pores. My makeup lasts throughout the day and looks great. Best part is the price! You just can’t go wrong.

This is quite a decent primer considering the price.
I find that when i use a small amount of the product, it actually doesn’t mattify my face. My face gets oily in the same amount of time i don’t use this primer. When i use too much of the product, my foundation becomes very hard to blend & it’ll crease. I find that when i use just the right amount, it does mattify my face for about 8hours & my foundation creases just alittle bit or it might not.
Overall, i like how this primer make my foundation looks but i don’t really like the smell.
Not my HG but will repurchase in the future.

This primer makes the application of my foundation difficult and patchy. My foudation slides from my face. Not going to use it again

This is the only primer, out of at least a dozen that I’ve tried, that I’ve actually re-purchased. I’ve tried a lot of HE products but this does the job better than any of them. It’s dirt cheap, comes in a tube (product stays fresh) and keeps my makeup looking fresh for 10-12 hours. I do blot at mid-day but that’s fairly normal with my oily skin. I’ve never had a problem blending liquid foundation over it, although I wear powder foundation (Meow Cosmetics) most days. I do wear it over an SPF30-50, so my face definitely has some moisture in it before I apply. YMMV. This is definitely HG for me; I wouldn’t be without it. If you’re looking for true mattifying power, give this a try. It’s $6-8 at the drugstore or Walmart.

Awesome staying power, budget friendly, and blends really well. I only wash my face after gym and not before and people always say how my makeup is still perfectly intact. Awesome stuff, better than tons of high end primers out there.

This stuff really does mattify your face, so much to where it’s almost dry, so use with caution! Keeps shine to a minimum throughout the day (if you set it with powder)

This product isn’t bad, my makeup lasts for a full day and stays relatively matte. But it creases pretty badly after only a few hours and it’s really hard to blend my foundation and concealer over it. I don’t think I’ll be buying it again.

I’m surprised by how much I love this primer. If you have a skin type like mine and use similar products to what I use, then this is kind of the perfect product for you. I have oily skin and I live in a hot and humid climate (and it’s summer on top of that), and this is the only product I’ve ever used that keeps me from looking like a mess by the end of the day. I barely got oily, even when I was outside for a while, and when my AC was out inside. My skin just looks a lot better and my foundation doesn’t oxidize at all (I’m very fair and I use the Fenty foundation in 120). This definitely works best if you use your fingers or a beauty blender-type sponge for your foundation, and if you then use a setting spray on top. This also looks good if I’m not wearing makeup and I just want to look less shiny and oily throughout the day.
While this works really well for me, if you don’t have oily (or even very oily) skin or you live somewhere dry, then this would make your foundation look cakey. I’m not even sure I could use this if I were in a colder climate, but for my current situation this is a fantastic (and very affordable) purchase.
