This is my favourite primer, the product is quite thin so it goes on very smoothly and gives a lovely dewy look. I also love that it gives spf protection too aswell as containing vitamin e.
If your looking for a pore smoothing primer this isn’t for you but this does give a good base for your foundation.

This is my HG primer. I have dry skin type and prefer the dewy look to my skin. When I apply this, I can see the dewiness right away, I was worried it would be greasy at first, but it doesn’t act like an oily product despite being moisturizing – once you apply your makeup on the top and buff it in it makes your skin look flawless and dewy without being too shiny and it really keeps the foundation in place all day! It has really helped keep my skin moisturized through the day too. I give the packaging 2 lipsticks out of 5 because you have to push hard on the funny shaped bottle to get the product out, really annoying… but other than that this is my perfect primer!

Pros:
makes your skin look dewy (for a while)
smells nice
nice packaging
moisturising (as i have normal to dry skin)
Cons:
Doesn’t create a smooth base – you can still see pores
Doesn’t make your make up last longer
Expensive.
I’ve been tending to use it with my mattifying primer to achieve a smooth but dewy look.

This primer gives a beautiful dewy base for foundation.
To me this tends to go a little watery after a while.
A little goes a long way.

This primer caused me the worst breakouts ever. My skin is not usually set off so badly by cosmetics. I really must be allergic to something in the formula because although other primers have clogged my skin before it was nothing like this.
Regardless of this breaking me out badly I thought it felt too heavy on the skin and really made me feel heavily made up once my foundation was on.
I really love illamasqua but this one was just not for me 🙁

Wow. I hardly say this, but this product blew me away. I was a little hesitant to use it because of my normal/combination skin, and I was worried it’d make me look greasy. I’ve used it under foundation, bb cream, msfn and on it’s own, and it’s done a stellar job every time. It gives me dewy skin, helps blush show up and stay on much better and hasn’t irritated my very sensitive skin nor caused any breakouts. The scent is beautiful but dissipates quickly, and the SPF is a bonus, especially good for when I’ll be indoors all day and don’t feel like wearing an additional layer of SPF. All in all, an amazing product and I will definitely purchase again.

I love this product. Period.
For about five years I have used primers on and off – mostly off. And mostly off because I don’t have any great experiences with primers. They don’t seem to do anything to make my foundation last longer (I have tried Gosh, L’Oreal and Mac primers). Or so I thought. This primer really makes a difference. My foundation not only lasts longer, it makes my foundation sit soooo much better on my skin, which I really didn’t think was possible, as I am using my all time favorite Clarins Everlasting Foundation.
Unfortunately it does not make my skin glow. Maybe it is because the Clarins foundation is rather heavy and covering (which is what I love, because of some sun damage to my skin, which I want to cover up), but I had hoped that this primer would make my skin look a little bit “dewyer”.
Never the less I would by this product again. Although it is quite pricy I think it is worth the money.

I was looking for a primer that wasn’t chock full of silicones and
decided to try Illamasqua Satin Primer as my first primer and first
Illamasqua product. Excellent result. I’m very pleased. The texture
is ideal for the purpose, and the primer helps my makeup stay on
longer. Just what I wanted. I have mature skin and prefer a dewy
finish to foundation or tinted moisturizer.

This is so-so for me. Not horrible and not amazing. Acts as a lovely base for applying make up but didn’t really do anything for me in terms of staying power. Make up came off just as easy. I couldn’t really notice the difference between it and what I normally use, which is just a normal moisturiser/sunscreen and are also substantially cheaper. Will try something else next time.

Ick! Is all I can say. Used a moderate amount and enjoyed the texture. However, it felt heavy and uncomfortable, (and I have worn major makeup for 25 years) so I know what uncomfortable feels like. The finish looked unnatural with an unflattering sheen. I generally go for satin finishes, the idea is equal amounts of dew and matte-but this just made me look like I needed to scrub my face. It actually changed the color and cast of my DiorSkin powder to an odd pink. lol and behold, I woke up the next day with some blemishes and irritation. To their credit, I have oily sensitive dehydrated skin with bouts of rosacea, so a lot of so-called great products do notta for me.
EDIT~I ran across this and gave it another try because since I have acquired several illamasqua items that I love.
I believe my skin at the time I tried it may not have been properly moisturized. It did not clump around my face like last time. Had a very nice ‘sheen’ to it when applied sparingly. Makeup applied easily all day. UVB filters are a plus, hopefully I won’t break out. 1 more lippie.
