Provides a glow alone or under foundation. Tones down red but as my skin has yellow undertones, it’s pink-y. The delivery method is horrible! It’s a dropper in a bottle but the product has a very thick consistency that dries quickly – it doesn’t “drop” so you have to scoop it off with your finger, contaminating the whole bottle. I’m certain that their are better quality and more fair-priced products out there. I am also breaking out when I use this product in places that I’ve never broken out before. Probably won’t try any more of Deciem/ The Ordinary’s products.

I. LOVE. THIS. For reference, i love me my By Terry sunny flash and CT flawless filter but this tops them both. Its not oily and not glittery. I mix 3 drops of this is in with my cc cream and i look flawless.
Yesterday, it was 36 degrees in Valencia and I had this on for a good 10 hours and my make up still looked fresh and did not slip and slide. Because of this and the Niod Mist, i bought 2 more products from their line and now testing them out under this and my cc cream…lets see how it fairs by the end of the day.
I would definitely repurchase. I wish this came with a pump though and not sold separately.

I love, love, LOVE this fluid. I have purchased it in both Opacity 12% (a pearlescent tone) and Opacity 8% (a deeper bronze tone) and I am still playing around with them both.
So far, I am leaning towards favoring this product as a mix-in to my tinted moisturizer–it definitely imparts a molten bronzy look.
NIOD Photography Fluid costs $30 / 30ml vs. $48 / 30ml for Burberry’s Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base. This feels like a meaningful difference but, as always, YMMV.
Finally, the packaging absolutely SUCKS. Deciem, can you please rethink this before I yank one lippie off?

When I first bought this, I regretted it. I couldn’t believe I spent £20 on a whim on a product that sounds a little gimmicky? I bought this in the tan version, since I myself have a medium tanned skin and don’t really like that much shimmer in my products. The 12% version would have been too much and too light on me.
I intended to use this to mix this in with my primer, thinking it would make my morning routine easier and that it would be good for the days I don’t want to wear foundation but still want an even skin tone. However, it turned out to be more messy and a bigger hassle than I thought (to be honest, it’s not messy but mixing it on the back of my hand every morning is just too much for my lazy soul lol). I was looking for something to even out my skin tone and smooth it out basically.
I couldn’t figure out how to make this work at first, mixing it into my primer and foundation didn’t do anything. In fact, mixing it into my foundation made it worse; it made it look thicker and a little cakey and it clung to my pores. But since I spent so much on this ridiculous bottle, I kept trying.
Now I’ve figured it out! On my skin, it works best if applied directly onto the skin AFTER foundation or primer like a liquid highlighter. I love almost invisible liquid highlighters that give the skin a glow and not a shimmer, and this is exactly what this fluid does. It looks like an inner glow that comes from my own skin, not some glitter that I’ve put on my face to catch the light (I mean I love those highlighters too, but not to use all the time). It also airbrushes the skin and makes it look so unbelievably smooth.
Also, because it’s looks like an inner glow, it doesn’t make my oily skin look even more oily.
This really is a versatile product, looking at how different people use it from the other reviews, so if you’ve tried it in one way and it doesn’t work, try again! It seems to work differently on different people. This product really is great, but it was also a luxury purchase. Not sure if I would buy it again, but in the mean time, I will enjoy using every single drop of this product now that I’ve figured it out.
Edit: A year after with this product, and I can safely say I will most definitely repurchase, without a doubt. Worth every penny.

This stuff is lovely and I often just use it without foundation. It gives a lovely glow and also seems to cover imperfections, leaving the skin looking healthy. There isn’t any noticeable smell and it goes on well. It mixes with foundation well and makes it more dewy but since I began using NIOD products my skin has been so much better and now at nearly 50 years old my skin doesn’t need foundation and just this.
But oh the packaging is awful… the dropper never really works and the bottle gets clogged up around the lid and I wish NIOD would change from this style bottle as this product is too thick for it. But I will still use it as it has a lovely effect on the skin.

I really like this product. I love golden-based luminizers, and I find that good ones are hard to come by. That, and many luminizing products are either white, pink or blue toned, which don’t work for me (I’m pale, but olive toned and gold/yellow looks best). I have never used this product on its own, because it would be too shimmery for me, but mixed with foundation- GORGEOUS. It gives a person the skin of an angel, with an amazing glow, but not so obvious or overdone that others can tell you’ve got some shimmer happening. You just have really gorgeous skin. The shimmer in the fluid is so fine that the fluid itself has amazing slip to it, and is thin enough to mix into liquid foundation beautifully. Regarding the dropper bottle, I’m okay with it, I just have to be careful putting the pipette back into the bottle. This product isn’t cheap, but considering how concentrated it is, balanced with the fact that I only have to use 1 or 2 drops of it, compared to other luminizing products with a thicker consistency, the cost of this balances out just fine. Plus, because I have to use so little, I figure it’ll take me a while to work through the bottle. All in all, a great product.

It’s taken me awhile to figure out how to use this in a way that works for me! I have very oily skin so I usually shy away from any kind of illuminating or highlighting product, but this seemed to be different so I decided to give it a try. I REALLY do like it! Because I’m so oily I find my skin tending to look overly matte because I’m constantly blotting and touching up with powder. For years I’ve used a thin layer of milk of magnesia under my makeup to keep shine down. I tried this product without the milk of magnesia and I wasn’t happy. At first, I also tried applying it with my fingers which didn’t look good either. After a lot of trial and error, this is what works for me… After moisturizer I put a bit of milk of magnesia on the back of my hand along with 1-2 drops of the photography fluid. I blend it together on my hand using a stippling brush. The brush I’ve been using is the medium sized Sonia Kashuk one with the white handle. Then, I blend the mixture all over my face. I wait a minute or two until it sets then apply concealer and my powder foundation (I use the Dermablend camo powder). It keeps my skin looking fresh and bright and shine to a minimum. I’ve also noticed that with this product when I touch up with powder during the day I maintain a nice glow. This has been a game changer for me!!! Because of how I apply this, I actually really like the dropper!

I bought a set from NIOD with 4 of their products and this was one. I have super sensitive skin and mild rosacea. I have to say that this product works very well, it gives you a beautiful finish, but unfortunatelly it aggravates my skin. I have not had any bad reactions to the other products from the set, and they are wonderful too.

The first few times I used this, I just loved it. But the package is terrible – the pipette is too small and too thin for the formula so it ended up with me just stroking off the fluid on to my hands and then mix it with my foundation. There’s another thing, this is not enough as primer for me and I think my face gets a little too shimmery. But it is really good for photo shoots (I’m a part time writer so I do interviews and photo shoots from time to time) and I also wear it on days when I have long video conferences at my other work. (yes, I’m that vain). I use a primer and then I mix Photography Fluid with my Skin Illusion foundation (Clarins) and that is a good mix. Would have liked this better if it had come in a tube, but I guess that one part of the NIOD experience is their packaging, making it look somewhat scientific. I have used and liked a lot of the other NIOD products, but this not so much.

Amazing after effect! I applied this with some oil before my foundation as the consistency is somewhat thick. My overall complexion looks brighter and my complexion remains even and flawless throughout the day! Highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a luminous but natural finish!
