I bought this face primer for $6 at WalMart. When I first tried it out I was intrigued because it’s not what I typically see in primers. The texture of this is like a thin lotion rather than silicone-y feeling. It is similar in color to a pale skin tone & has shimmer in it. Be aware of that before buying because I absolutely love that but can see some people being turned off by it. Sometimes even when I don’t wear makeup I put this primer on. It brightens up my complexion & is hydrating. When applied before makeup, makes my makeup last longer & go on more smoothly. There isn’t really a noticeable smell to this product.
Although the main claim of this primer is “dark spot correcting” I don’t have dark spots. So I can’t speak on how it corrects them. Why did I buy this then, you may wonder? Because on the back it claims to also “diffuse dark circles… while brightening and smoothing the complexion.” That’s what drew me in. I don’t know that it necessarily does anything for my dark circles. But then again, most concealers don’t even do the job (my dark circles are mighty & to be feared.) However, this stuff does add a nice glow to the face. It sinks into the skin & doesn’t leave me feeling greasy. This primer never balls up under foundation. Also, Hard Candy doesn’t test on animals (which is important to me.)

This product was worth a trip to Wal-Mart just to pick up (note: I live in a rural area where the closest Wal-Mart is about a 45 minute trip away, so I rarely go). I loved that it didn’t have a silicone, slippery feel and was more of a thin lotion consistency. One pea sized dollop is all I needed for my whole face and I was a big fan of the way it kept the oilies at bay all day. It was only $8 and far better than some more expensive lines that I’ve tried. I really felt like it helped my foundation (Marc Jacobs) stay on and stay fresher than without. One caveat: it didn’t do much for my dark spots so I couldn’t see any real “correcting” going on there. Still, because of how it worked under MU I would still repurchase. Recommended!
