A make-up base designed to prolong wear time of foundation while minimising shine, from the inexpensive brand Cezanne. There are 2 tints available, pink beige and blue tinted, and I have the pink one. It comes in a small 30mL bottle with a screw cap lid, shake before use and apply after sunscreen. This claims to be SPF28 but I think you’d need to use a huge amount to get this actual stated sun protection. It’s a runny formula that spreads easily, but dries on skin fairly quickly so you have to be speedy putting it on. I tend to focus on my T-zone as it’s the oiliest part, and blend outwards. There is a pinkish tint but it’s barely perceptible once on the skin.
This does help me with my shiny face problems, as when I’m not using it I need to blot and/or powder about twice as often as when I am wearing it. Aside from niacinamide serums, this is one of the only products that does actually seem to keep skin matte for longer and consequently help keep make-up in place. Shiny skin is a huge concern of mine, I do carry blotting papers around with me always but on busy shifts at work I might not get a break until 10 hours into it, and blotting ‘blind’ can leave me with smudged make-up if I’m not careful. Now obviously this is no miracle worker that makes me look like I have perfectly matte skin all day, but it certainly increases the time spent looking matte and often I’ll get a pleasant surprise when I see my reflection after several hours, and I don’t need to use blotting papers yet.
Japanese long-wearing make-up products are fantastic, wish they were easier to get hold of!
