The only file I will ever use on my nails again. Read about glass nail files from a celebrity manicurist and decided to give it a try. While it takes some getting used to at first (compared to emery boards and the like), once you do it will change the way you file. I have had no problems with peeling or splitting since I started using these. There’s no more “keep filing because of that one little rough spot you can’t seem to smooth without filing down your whole nail” issue as I used to get with regular files. While not cheap, supposedly if taken care of and stored properly, these will last a lifetime.

This is my favourite “tool” ever! Sorry I must admit, “tools” do not look any prettier than this. (I’ll post some pics on my page). The set, along with the mini file, came in a nice secure box (kind of like a fountain pen box). The files are in velvet sleeves.
You use this like any nail file, except the edge is everlasting – that means, if you don’t break or drop this, the file should be forever sharp for filing :). Ive previously been a nailcutter, so it’s the first time i’ve filed edges. The edges were very smooth. I read that with glass files you can file any direction. But for safety, you can still file towards the inside like most people do.
Definitely haven’t had any snags or breaking nails since I started filing.
The reason why I started filing is I started to play guitar and need my nails on my left hand really short. But secondly, I type very often for work, and now my nails havent been breaking im happy with that ! I have pretty hard nails but when they get very long and after a lot of use then tend to break so so far, all perfect!
This tool is so beautiful I just like looking at it sitting there, but by far one of the most practical tools, i use almost every day. its just so easy to pick up and look at and use.
