I love HG powders in general for their fine-milled texture that never looks powdery or cake-y. I wanted to try this for my NW20 skin for a blurring effect. The color is a good match, and it does leave a slight, natural glow to my skin. If it lasted a long time I would give it 5 stars, but the effect really begins to wear off after a few hours. My skin is oily so that may have something to do with it, but then again there are other powders that last longer on it. Overall, if you can get the effect to last on your skin it’s a really nice product.

I have tried four of these, and this one works so well with my NC 20 (maybe lighter?) skin tone. I use it as a blush on no-makeup days, and I put it over Orgasm blush on makeup days. It just sort of diffuses everything and gives me a very subtle glow. I have horrific pores, just absolutely terrible, and this works great with them.
The price, though…Jesus, it’s expensive for a powder. I use it sparingly because of that. If it was cheaper, it’d be a daily must.

This powder is SO expensive, however it’s worth every penny. It is so finely milled, and it gives the most beautiful luminous glow to my mature (aging) skin. I use it as a finishing powder and it never looks dry or cakey. My skin looks brighter and just beautiful. The package is also really lovely, however don’t drop it, the powder is somewhat delicate and if you drop it…well…you’d probably cry, considering how much you paid for it! I picked up mood lighting because it’s supposed to mimic the perfect lighting and diffuse the harshness of indoor or even natural lighting. I can say, it actually does that….it’s like magic in a compact! Mood lighting has a slightly pinkish/purplish tint that doesn’t really translate color wise onto the skin, other than making my skin appear brighter and more soft focus. They have several other color versions, and the next one I want is Ethereal Light, because seriously, who doesn’t want to look ethereal?! 🙂

I decided to pick this up since I had a store credit from Sephora.
I had used this a few times and didn’t really notice much of a difference. It adds a bit of warmth to my skin but I would need to pack it on in order to see a difference. The powder itself is velvety smooth and I love that.
All in all, i wouldn’t repurchase and I definitely wouldn’t pay reg price for this product. I have a lot of far less expensive products that perform way better but it was nice to have the opportunity to try this product out.

on first application of mood light, i didnt see a thing.
puzzled, i applied more and started to see a very small amount of pink on the cheeks
(i applied in a big 3 – forehead/cheek/jaw).
then i decided to put on the a nars blush (sin) and applied more mood light.
and wow!! now i see it!! and i feel kind of amazed.
there is a beautiful glow and the blush is blended so nicely.
this magic powder is a luxury for sure but it is quite a fascinating product.
i will not place it down the center of my face or on either side of nose though for fear of looking oily (i will use laura mercier translucent powder there), but i think it looks awesome applied in the big 3.
i used a large duo-fibre bronzing brush to apply. nw25. age 50+

So this range is an all time favourite for me. Definitely in my top five ever products.
They create a soft filtered effect in the skin which is unlike any other highlighting powder I’ve ever used. I love it so much I’ve bought three separate colours, plus the palette, plus a blush. Photographs like a dream.
This particular colour is a soft pink, so it’s unlikely to be a great colour for ‘all over’- it’s more a soft highlighter. On tanned skin it works as highlighter, on pale skin it doubles as a soft blush. Try it over another blush to enhance the texture and effect, you won’t be disappointed. Looks best after about an hour as it ‘ settles’ on the skin. Worth paying the $$$

I have a medium skin tone. I got this initially as a finishing powder – and it does work for that too, except I have to be extremely light handed about it – otherwise I look a bit tanned (with a tinge of this purple-redness that doesn’t look unflattering, but it makes me look just tanner).
I thought about returning this until I saw a review about this product and how some people choose to use it to contour their face. That’s when I saw the magic. I love how subtle this is for that. It’s perfect for daily use and it really just blends right into the skin. (this is when I realized this is how blushes should apply too – instead of it being this pink and orange dot on my face). The powder is so finely milled. The subtlety is also nice for contouring noobs like me because even if you screw up, you could just blend it and it will turn out all right. Really like this!

This is my fifth Ambient Lighting Powder purchase. I have Diffused light as well as the Ambient Lightning Palette. I love to use the palette all over my face- middle shade under eyes, left shade all over, right shade on nose/temples/under cheekbones. I have read about many people using Mood Light and looking flushed, so I wondered if this would work well as a blush for me. Because it’s not pink or coral but more lavender it doesn’t look like any blush that I’ve tried, but it does give a flushed, healthy look to my cheeks that looks incredibly natural, but better than my own skin, and it lasts all day.

I initially bought Dim Light because my friend suggested using as an all over powder for that luminous glow and to blur out the imperfection. She also mentions that it wasn’t too matt but wasn’t too sparkly either. It looks gorgeous on her since she’s tanner than me but on my fair to medium skin it seemed a bit orangey rather than that peachy glow Dim claims to be. So I went back to Sephora and swapped it for Mood Light. I’m a HUGE sucker for anything pink, especially soft, light, baby, pretty, pastel pink such as Mood Light. I use it as a blush and it’s above average. I was expecting to be bit more pigmented for the price but it isn’t all that everyone hyped it up to be. Nonetheless I kept it since the packaging is durable and since I use it only as a highlighter/blush it’s going to last me awhile. Also it’s just too pretty to look at. I know that’s not a good reason to buy a 45$USD worth blush but to me it is!
