This stuff is amazing!!! I’ve been using it for over 15 years now, and I’ve tried many other products, and nothing can beat it!!! It wonderfully covers my large pores without caking up or clumping in areas. It literally flawlessly covers your face making it look like you have a naturally beautiful skin. It is so hard to find a make up that fully covers your face, and matches it so well you have the appearance of barely wearing anything. I also have combination skin with discolored areas, and large pores. It literally covers all of my imperfections! I cannot say it enough this product is amazing!!!

I decided to try this, basely solely on the reviews on Makeup Alley.
I must admit, I’m impressed. Goes on light with a very natural finish. It doesn’t look like your wearing makeup. I’m NC20-25 and O2O is a good match. It definitely deserves it’s cult following.
Try it!

I’m somewhat surprised to find there aren’t more recent reviews of this.
After my darling Too Faced Amazing Face powder foundation was discontinued, I bought up every last one I could find online, knowing that eventually I’d have to find a replacement. I’ve worked at that over the past six months or so, and believe I’ve found the best fit.
I have crappy, acne-scarred, supremely oily skin. I’ll use Studio Fix off and on, but with the amount of oil I produce, I end up blotting with that (no joke) roughly every half hour. I wear this Shiseido Powdery over the MAC Prep & Prime BB, get pretty darn decent coverage, and blotting is kept to roughly every two hours or so.
For note: I also seem to have sensitivities to mica and bismuth oxychloride (which really makes finding a good powder foundation difficult). I won’t touch ANYTHING with the latter (even in very small quantities), and this has mica far down on the ingredients list. My skin seems to be coping okay so far; nothing terrible to speak of
For shade reference: I’m a tad darker and pinker than NC35, but have yet to delve into the N shades. I purchased this in I40, and while it’s a teensy bit on the pink side, I fear that going O may be too yellow. Maybe next time, I’ll make that attempt. Either way, the hue isn’t so far off that I’m ashamed to leave the house.
I’ll give this a 4. I don’t think I’ll ever find anything on par with how well the Amazing Face works for me (go figure), but this will more than do for now. For reference, I’ve tried the Studio Fix, Bobbi Brown Skin Weightless (nice coverage, but lacking in long-term oil control) Clinique Superpowder (worked TERRIBLY on me), MUFE DuoMat and more…I just can’t remember them all right now.
ALSO! I like to save money where I can, so I purchased the refill of this and popped it into my Amazing Face compact. It’s not a perfect fit, by any means, but works well enough that I don’t feel the need to shell out $8 for the real compact. 🙂 I actually like the idea of Shiseido selling the refills separately and cutting down on packaging waste where possible. Props to them.
Hope this helps; feel free to message me with questions.

I purchased this in Very Light Ivory or IOO and its a perfect match to my skintone. I usually wear NW20 in SFP, NARS Monte Blanc, very cool undertones, blonde hair, green eyes for reference. This is a really nice powder foundation I usually use Studio Fix but wanted to try out something new for my powder foundation. I like to use this over a light bb cream to even out my skin. My major skincare issues are being combo, redness, and occasional hormonal spots. Having combination skin I have to make sure I have something that controls oil but also doesn’t dry me out. This does that and covers my crazy monthly spot very well. I like to use a stipple brush and that seems to work well in just covering the areas I need and my redness. If I need fuller coverage I use the sponge but only on areas that need it. I have yet to use this wet.
When I’m finished applying I spritz with fix+ or some type of fine mist to melt the powder with my skin. When I do that this looks 100% natural on me. the product itself is buttery smooth and covers quite nicely without having to build it up. It lasts too I find at the end of the day it’s still on maybe as not as perfect but my skin definitely still looks good. It hasn’t broken me out at all either. In fact when I first used this I had a lovely crop of hormonal acne and this worked really well and stayed on the spots all day! One thing I dislike is when a product is still on my face but not in the places that need it the most. Well not with this powder!
Packaging wise I mean you only have to buy the compact once so that’s good. They try to temp me with having other versions for sale but my black one is just fine by me. I like the case it’s sturdy and sleek. The mirror is well made and the refills are affordable for a HE powder foundation. I think the price is ok by me and I would repurchase this. It also keeps me shine free for a very long time! I was really surprised by that pleasant fact. It covers well, lasts, doesn’t cause acne, and helps cover my redness. All in all I’m very happy with my purchase. Recommended!

I use O20 and it is perfect. It looks super natural and keeps oiliness at bay all day. It stays put pretty well and I like the little compact. I like to use it with the sponge that it comes with. The sales lady used a little buffy type brush on me and it seemed to go on extra well but the brush was as much as the powder, the sponge is okay but seems to waste a fair bit of the powder.
The integrity of the powder cake is good too, mine gets chucked around a fair bit and it has held together.
The only issue is that it is getting really hard to find in Australia, not to mention it is very expensive when I can find it ($55 for a couple of grams).
I have problems getting make up to suit my skin tone but this is juuuust right!

I use this in O60, but I think it’s a little dark going on. It seems to adjust to match my color better though. I’m going to try I40 next.
I think it’s a bit ridiculous to charge $8 for a separate compact, especially when it’s a dingy piece of plastic. The refills are close to $30, which also seems crazy for so little. However, my skin is finnicky and this seems to work, so I’m willing to shell out.
I use this dry with the puff it comes with for heavier coverage. I make sure to moisturize very well first, or this will emphasize anything flaky. It keeps my matte throughout the entire day, which is something no other product I’ve tried has accomplished. Fades a bit as the day goes on, but it still covers sufficiently.
I’ve used it with a powder brush before, but I find that it doesn’t provide any coverage when used that way.

This is my HG powder! I’ve been using this since I was 18, which is more than 12 yrs! I love this powder. I had tears in my eyes when the sales said they were discontinuing it last year. Thank god they didn’t!! It’s matifying, make u have perfect skin, and never cakey. I will buy this product forever. I always have two opened. One at home and one to go out wid. I brought this powder so much I lost count already. If I don’t wear powder my skin will become so oily you can use it to cook dinner. Lolz! Then breakout like crazy. I use I20. Hope you are enjoying as much as I do.

Many people are raving about this product, and I don’t understand. This powder does not look natural EVER, and it just absorbs into my skin and makes my pores look even larger. I will not be repurchasing.

the makeup powdery foundation (MPF) is a wonderful product but shiseido just have to discontinue it 🙁 the sales told me that the sheer matifying compact (SMC) is the closest thing so i bought the exact same shade O20 (MAC NC25) that i had for this. turns out, the colour is darker and more orange than MPF! the coverage for this powder is sheer, probably lasts on my combination skin (dry forehead and chin, oily t-zone) for a good 4 hours summer, 6 hours winter.

I LOVE this powder! I have been hunting and searching for a powder that would STAY MATTE all day, and this is it! The color matches my skin perfectly (I buy I20, natural light ivory). It looks very nice and natural, and it stays all day on my combination-oily skin. Love love love it. It is definitely worth the price, but it sucks that you have to buy the compact separate from the refill (but you only have to do that the first time).
