A godsend to pale ladies with mature skin who still want a powder foundation! I wore this for years and was devastated when Px temporarily discontinued. Thank goodness it is back up on their website. It is literally the only product I do auto-refill on. And even stock a few backups of.
-Shade: There is not a huge range. 3 shades each in varying levels of color depth for Neutral, Warm and Cool. Cool in Px land=more red/pink blue undertones. For reference: I am nw10 in MAC land, but the MSF in that was too yellow for me. BE in the lightest shad (Fair) was also too yellow for me (and itchy!). MUFE Multi-Use 110 was too dark and too red. Lancome Dual Finish in Porcelain Delicate I works for me for a purse touch-up powder foundation. Px Level 1 Cool is a perfect match for me, love!
-Coverage: light-Medium to Full. It is very buildable, which is something I love. I leave my cheeks with just a dusting, but use it more heavily on my forehead, where it is awesome at covering some hyperpig.
-Finish: Soft, diffused, slightly glowy (not shimmery) natural look. The Px website describes tit as Matte, but I really find that on properly moisturized skin I would call this finish simply “Natrual/MFBB.” Does not look dry/cakey, which is awesome for a powder foundation. This is a major concern for more mature skin types (38 here), but really this looks more natural and youthful than most liquid foundations I have tried.
-Tips: I create a kind of “glow from within” look by using a bit of Jane Iredale Glow Time BB cream underneath. Applies best with a stiff, synthetic kabuki, such as one from Everyday Minerals.
-Price: $38.00 for a .3 oz sifter jar. Even with generous daily use, this can last months, very reasonable.
-Ingredients: Does contain Bismuth Oxychloride, for those whom this is a problem for. BE caused me itching and hives, but not Px. Offers some stable sun protection with 12% Tio2 and 4.9% Zno.
-Small gripe: I wish there was a pressed version for purse touch-ups.
-Verdict: Love and will continue to repurchase!

The Prescriptives All Skins is one of the best loose powders I have ever tried. It provides decent coverage if applied with kabuki brush (I would call it medium to full coverage). I never use liquid foundations (too much work). Normally I have to use bare escentuals bisque to cover imperfections first, and then various powders, with this one I don’t have to, unless I go out and want to look great. It doesn’t need any setting powder either. One product that compliments it is bare esentuals soft focus realize as blush, looks great together. The Prescriptives All Skins sits nice on the face, feels nice, doesn’t get into creases, it’s very matte, holds well all day. I use level 1, and it is not too pale, it’s beige but not yellowish. It creates healthy glow look, which I want. I get many compliments when I use it. I highly recommend it.

Every time I applied it, my face would get extremely itchy and break out in huge hives. The funny thing is that I don’t have very sensitive skin and I used it with many different clean brushes. No matter how soft or clean my brush was, the result was still the same. I wish I could have liked it, but it has to go.

This is my HG foundation. I love it! When I thought Prescriptives was going out of business I ran out and bought 5 backups. I am relieved that I can still purchase Prescriptives online. I use Retin A and many liquid foundations emphasize the dry flakes that I am always fighting. This mineral powder gives me great natural looking coverage without emphasizing my dry skin. I do use a concealer under it on a few dark spots left over from blemishes. The color is perfect for me ( I use level 2 warm light). My favorite part is how easy and quick it is to apply. I have to get up at 5am and I’m too tired in the morning to fuss with anything complicated. This Is much quicker and easier to apply then liquid foundation. One container also lasts me almost a year and I use it almost every day. I have used the Prescriptives powder brush but I prefer to use my Sephora mineral makeup brush.

Although this product appears to be discontinued, you can STILL purchase it on the Prescriptives website. This powder is the only mineral powder I can find that is fair enough for my very fair complexion. I always have problems finding foundations that match my skintone. The colors are almost always too dark. (Especially with drugstore products.) I use Level 1 Warm Light. I like that I don’t have to use a lot of product and that I can use it as a concealer as well. It does contain Bismuth Oxychloride which can cause acne and irritation But under the ingredients it says “MAY contain: Bismuth Oxychloride,” so who knows how much of this stuff is really in it. I know that MAC MSF powder contains Bismuth Oxychloride and that definitely broke me out. So far this makeup is not making me break out but I do get itchy on my chin a few hours after application. I will update my review after I have worn it for a couple weeks. I encourage you ladies to pay close attention to ingredients and research which ones are bad for your skin. You will save your skin many problems.
UPDATE: This powder DOES make me break out so I’m going to have to look for something else. Revlon Colorstay is just too hard to blend. I thought this might be my HG but I guess I have to keep searching.

I absolutely love this foundation. It does not clog my pores like a lot of cream/liquid foundations, it gives great coverage but doesn’t look like your wearing anything, and a little really does go a long way. I heard that they are discontinuing this line but I hope thats not true because this is a great foundation.
The only draw backs are the packaging and the brush. Its very difficult to travel with this tub/jar all the powder fills into the top portion if turned upside down or sideways. Also the brush hairs ALWAYS come off on my face when applying.

just okay for.. i used it like after foundation powder.. didn’t really like it.. i’m just using it cuz it was expensive and i don’t want to waste money.. i still break out from this, so just using it when needed.. will not buy again besides from discountinuing brand.. was hoping for better..

This is great. Its like the Laura mercier mineral powder but it is richer for dryer skin.
The ingredients are just fantastic. all the prescriptives products have really good ingredients in general. the result is flawless. they have such diversity of colors to match the skin tone well. natural sun block also.this one lasts really a long time. 1.5 years for a tub. its worth the money for sure. too bad they will stop making such great things soon.

I really like this foundation. I tried this in two different shops each consultant told me i needed a different colour. I am happy with the colour i now have. mineral powers are really good as you can get a darker shade for summer and just mix. this makes by skin look flawless without being heavy. the prescriptive brush for this is great too but expensive. it lasts for ages but then i only wear it a few times a week.

Wow, for someone so picky I’m surprised to say HG HG HG!!! I am normally a girl who needs a full coverage fdtn. and I have gone through so many bottles of liquid fdtn. I originally purchased this together with a custom made fdtn from Presciptives (which I love!!! HG too). I went home the next day and used the powder over the fdtn. and ewwww. Cakey, fake and oily all at the same time, YUCK! So this stuff had been sitting in the back of my makeup drawer for ages! I had recently been performing in musical theatre so I had been caking on the harsh stage makeup and sweating and I could see my skin stressing so the days I wasn’t performing I boycotted my normal mu routine and just used my smashbox primer and the mineral powder overtop, WOW WOW WOW WOW. This provides full coverage and looks and feels like my real skin, I can literally look in the mirror up close and not be able to tell I am wearing fdtn. All I need is to put concealer on my heavy duty acne and it’s perfect!!! I am so in love, there used to be days where I could not leave the house without a full face of labour intensive liquid fdtn. but with primer and this I look so polished and lovely!!! So a tip, DO NOT use over another fdtn, try by itself and It will be great!! 🙂
