Dr. Marvey polish is a water based formula that is “7” free, so no Toulene, DBT, Formaldehyde, camphor, parabens, phthalates, or gluten. This polish is developed by a team of nail experts and they have an entire line of nail care products that are designed to care for your nails and restore nail health. I found this when my local HEB had them all on an end of year clearance. I had never heard of Dr. Marvey products before, but they have a website, Facebook page, blog, and Twitter page. I discovered all that when I went to do some research on the polish and company. I have never used a water based polish before. The color I have on is called Snapdragon which is a beautiful microshimmer metallic polish in a golden bronze color. The polish is thick and it absolutely does not drip. It goes on in thicker layers though because it is such a dense formula. It has to be spread out but it does apply easily. I applied two coats of this over a protein base and basecoat. I did apply my usual fast drying topcoat Seche Vite. This is a stunning polish. It has pretty sparkles and shimmers and it looks like a foil finish with microshimmery lights all over. This was not brushstrokey at all or streaky. It applies nicely but I prefer a thinner formula. I was going to test this for wear time, and I have had this on for 2 days, but now in the middle of day three and an entire nail polish just popped off a nail. It is all in one piece like a nail decal. Weird. I suppose that is the water based difference. The rest of my nails are holding up fine though, so maybe that was from the Seche Vite instead? They have several beautiful shades and I did go back and get some more as I really like the shimmers and how pretty these are on my hands. I didn’t get these because they were 7 free, I got them because I am a nail polish lover and I liked the colors, and you can’t beat clearance pricing.
