Sexy Divide is an Essie cult favourite – and with good reason! This shade is a deep but bright purple, with some small shimmer particles providing a lovely glow from within. It applies easily, needing only two coats to reach full opacity. It doesn’t apply streakily or patchily, and the formula does not run. It is a gorgeous colour, and would suit all skin tones. It really makes the nails pop! The formula dries to a shiny finish, and lasts about 5-6 days without chipping or tipwear – slightly longer than my other Essie polishes. I really love this shade, it is one of my favourite Essies and one I would always recommend. This is a classic shade that every polish lover should have in their collection. One of my favourite shades of purple – A+ from Essie.

Essie polishes get thinner and streakier each time I purchase. This one requires three coats to remotely reach a smooth and opaque finish! The deep grape color isn’t particularly complex as the shimmer hinted in the bottle isn’t visible on the nails BUT if you like a dark shade that stays true to color and doesn’t read black indoors, it might be worth it to you,

Giving this a 4/5 for Price because Essie polishes are always so expensive, lol.
Essie “Sexy Divide” is such a nice color! A very deep dark purple. I would say that the only problem I had with this polish is that the shimmer doesn’t show up on your nail as well as in the bottle. The only difference is when you’re in direct sunlight *or flash* where the shimmer pops out a lot more. Including that the brush was really thin, but then again, all regular Essie polish brushes are thin.
I would definitely buy more if I ran out. Even the bottle looks beautiful!

I reeeeallly wanted to like this color.
In the bottle, it looked like the royal purple version of Aruba Blue (one of my favorites — not just in the Essie line, but of all time). Unfortunately, the shimmer in this one is less dense than in Aruba Blue, so the coverage isn’t as good and the color doesn’t have as much impact.
Shimmer nail polishes are usually impossible to apply unevenly, but this one was almost impossible to apply evenly (in two coats that is). Since the shimmer isn’t very dense, it applies somewhat like a jelly, which is always awkward. Once on, it’s a fairly nice color — but not earth-shattering, like it would be if it lived up to its bottle color.

This is stunning! Lovely color. 3 coats and it is fab. It’s sexy but also quite sophisticated.

Love this color! It is a dark purple that actually looks purple (and not black) when you are inside. When you look at this color in sunlight it is so pretty. The purple sparkles and adds great depth to the color. It is safe for me to say that this purple is my all time favourite purple (and I have around 7-8 other purple colors as well). The application is amazing, no streaking, etc. Two coats is enough to achieve the color that is shown in the bottle. I would buy this color over and over again. I think I am almost half done the bottle as well!

Love the colour (deep cool plum purple with the teeniest bit of shimmer – very sophisticated) and the lacquer-like finish. But removing it was hellacious, even with only 2 thin coats. Application was good though – streak free, no gloppiness, good controlled brush and I could do thin coats.
