Cult Nails Alluring is a beautiful rosy mauve nude crème with a subtle greenish blue shimmer throughout. This came out in 2014 with the Spring Radiance collection. I purchased this as a pre-ordered set getting a discount on the entire set. This has been sitting in my polish cabinet for some time now and it got overlooked in favor of neons, glitters, and other more vibrant shades but I wanted to wear something really special for my birthday and pulled this limited edition polish out to play. I’d forgotten how wonderful Cult Nails polishes are. This is a beautiful chameleon crème with tiny blue green shimmers throughout it. They aren’t an in your face shimmer, no they are subtle but give this a beautiful look. This polish seems to change color depending on the lighting. In the sunshine this is a gorgeous rose mauve color and it looks like the marsala shade that was Pantone’s color of the year for 2015. In my office under the incandescent lighting it looks very mauvey warm like a woodrose shade. In my fluorescent lighting it appears to be a warm tan nude shade and looks more tan and beige than pink. It’s a color shifting shade and I really love that about it. This is such a warm polish and looks sort of Grandma pink, but it’s got that something special that elevates it from old lady rose. The formula on this is fantastic and in two easy coats, this is completely opaque and it dried fairly quickly too. This does flow off the brush easily and it’s on the thinner side so wipe your brush well to avoid the excess from running down and feeding more polish onto the brush end or you’ll end up with flooding. The brush is a small thin standard brush exactly like China Glaze’s brushes and it is so easy to apply polish with. It is cut well and has no crazy bristles or stray hairs to mess up a precise application. The brush is very flexible but it doesn’t really fan out much so this will take several strokes to apply. This polish self levels so application is a breeze. This is no longer in production as sadly, Cult Nails closed shop a couple of years ago. You might be able to still find this on blogger destashes or on Ebay or other private sellers. While it’s pretty it isn’t something I would waste a lot of time or energy or money trying to locate since it’s not a recent release. This is a fabulous neutral though and would be very office friendly even in a strict traditional environment as these rosy grandma pinks are so neutral/nude looking. This is a special polish and I am happy to be wearing it today to celebrate my special day!
