Calypso Blue is must have! This color was part of the Bahama Blues Collection. It’s a very dark cream blue (that actually looks blue and not black!). It’s lighter than navy blue, more like a dark denim.
I was short on time for my manicure, so I used 1 coat originally and it covered very well. There was a slight hint of streakiness, but it only came up on camera. I painted a second coat a couple days later and it was absolutely perfect. Slightly darker, and very even. The polish lasted about 4 days without chipping (with a good top coat).
The drawbacks are that the formula contains tosylamide/formaldehyde resin so it stinks and it isn’t B3F… It’s messy and a little hard to apply, and also stains your fingers pretty badly when you remove the polish. The stains come off of your fingers after you wash our hands a couple times, but not so much for the cuticles. A base coat is definitely a must with this one. Plan on wearing a dark color for your next manicure as well.

I was only recently introduced to China Glaze products, and seduced by the colours, I immediately purchased several bottles.
Calypso blue looks much more like a royal blue in the bottle, but applies as a fantastic navy. It’s definitely more blue than black.
I applied to coats for my mani, but I probably could have got away with one, I just wanted to make sure the colour was absolutely uniform.
One thing that has me a little concerned about this colour is how easily it stains the cuticles and my skin. I’m not looking forward to taking this off, and it’s clear that I won’t be removing this one and jumping straight into another manicure with a sheer or pale polish. Blue city!
I’m not sure if this is because it is a dark colour, or because it’s a blue, or if my nail polish remover really sucks, but other than that I’m thrilled with the look so far.
We’ll have to see how it goes for wear and tear.

This is such a pretty dark blue! As for most of the CG (that I have, anyways) it applied super smoothly. One coat could have been enough but I still did 2. Also, it dries really glossy!
The only thing is that when I took it off, my nails were still a little blue.. Wooow..Got some a little bit bluish in my nails and went white..mmmhmm..Wooow……then I did another coat to clean the rust off of my nail! Now for the wallpaper! It was really light so I think it’s alright now.
It’s really heavy!! It’s that light because they just covered my nail very well. Its really well done for these pics!! I guess I can’t give the pics as they are blurry due to heavy editing and stuff.. It’s a bit difficult to judge so what I did on the next step of this is also very dirty………… well thats good since that’s just my brain lol
I LOVE this photo and I love to submit them as I do my usual incase it wasn’t perfect
P.S. All the scenes at the end are on my stream so click and check your favorite playdates for yourself

(For Starring): Before I finished, I wanted to change a lot of things. Firstly there’s lightness and the details are always very good. It actually looks pretty strange that some scenes would have light detail. I should really try setting this up first though. What I would like most is to have the lightness deign to look more lighthearted but that is probably too difficult for me haha
After the photo went through I was struck by the heavy fuzziness. While it’s not deign, it seems that it’s heavy enough and since I am a person who likes snow at this time of year, this could be more of a problem than nothing. Anyhow, after setting up it for about 5 minutes it used to be slightly colder after 5 minutes or so but now that it is so pretty and not so cold, I think its as if a darker material is coloring them. Then as it grew larger I noticed the better I look then before it went off. Would you guys think that its okay to allow a certain amount of detail here with sunlight and precipitation? Anyways, after confirming what you think it is with the brightest of colors and everything… I hope you all enjoy my whole girl gallery 🙂
P.P.S.. No surprise when I picked this picture to apply to the wall. Not very popular with a lot of picture banks because I think it would give me a better balance of contrast, while still being too heavy. If you’re ever in

GORGE. mind you i had it painted by my manicurist so great look was guaranteed – but i did notice a very smooth application even in just one coat (of course we did two). calypso blue is what i wanted OPI Russian Navy to be, before i realized RN was a shimmer (its a gorgeous shimmer i love, but i was craving a creamy navy!). calypso blue is also a lot deeper , thicker and “truer” than RN, a vinyl-shine even in the dark… fabulous

Dries to a shiney wet look (without a top coat) dark royal blue that almost borders on navy but is a bit brighter and more interesting with still be dark enough to be classy for winter. Love it! Nice smooth application, 2 coat perfection! Although the next day did chip on one nail across it but I think it was the way I painted that particular nail sides. lol
