I’m obsessed with lipsticks

My dad gave me this as a gift on his way back from France, and I love it. I use everything only occasionally because I don’t want it to run out! I have the one with a gold and brown duo on one side, and a pink and purple eyeshadow duo on the other. The colors are so pretty…..

I have this palette in “Lumiere Naturelle” and I must say that I ADORE it. I’m not normally a fan of palettes because I have a history of using one or two of the products and wasting the rest. So this is the first one I’ve bought in at least five years. The quality of the blush and shadows are exceptional. I usually avoid blush because it settles in my fine lines and emphasizes a scar on my cheek. I was amazed that I can wear this one without a problem, although I am careful to use it sparingly and confine it to the tops of my cheekbones – where I blush naturally. I have an almost paper-like skin tone, very fair, so I invariably purchase everything in the lightest shade available, and I usually wear make-up products so neutral that they border on colorless. I wanted a bit of color for summer, but not too much. These shades are perfect in that respect. I haven’t used all of the products yet, but they look harmonious in the palette. Initially, I was worried because they feature light shimmer. I typically use matte products only because, well, I’m aging, damn it. However, the shimmer here is not pronounced, and doesn’t make every line and pore pop. The four “lip creams” are more like lip balms than lipstick or gloss. As has been mentioned elsewhere, they are sheer. They leave a moisturizing transparent hint of color, which on me is similar to the level of pigment I usually get from my Fusion Beauty “Glow” gloss. The packaging is chic, and the brushes are good quality. I have read other reviews complaining that palettes are hard to keep clean. However, I think that if a little of the blush gets onto a lip cream or eye-shadow then it will just spice things up a little since the colors go well together. I have blended some of the lip creams and they combine well. My only two wishes are, firstly, for more brushes. There is one eye-shadow brush for four colors, and one lip brush too. I added some extra brushes to the set to overcome that problem. Secondly, I can’t believe that I spent $85.00 on a make-up palette! I love it so I don’t regret it, but I’m dumbfounded nevertheless. On the positive side, I think that it will last quite a long time because it is pigmented well and only a little of each product is needed. I love sheer, light and natural-looking make-up, and if you do too then this palette is for you.

I love this palette,I ris and did not get the instructions booklet,i was lost but then i figured it out, duh! love the colors, the black is my hg cake liner(used with chanel liner brush of course!)the gold is beautiful in the middle of my lips to make them appear fuller, the silver (the gold also)are awesome eye glosses.the only one that i don’t really use at all is the red,i stay away from reds anyway, but it is beautiful, and the beige as a concealer! Chanel did it again !

I was sucked in by how pretty the compact looked. Yes you can blend and mix but it is time consuming to get the right shades. I think the gold and silver are best for evening looks. Ashamed to say I hardly use it…. the red does gice a nice glow to the cheeks though. Maybe writing this and reading what everyone else had to say will inspire me to dig it out again.

I received this product as a gift and the booklet did not come with it. Recently I went to a Chanel counter and asked for the book, and I am amazed at all of the mixing and matching you can do. I’ve used the red on my lips (beautiful) and the black as an eyeliner (looks great and really lasts). I’m looking forward to trying the other combinations, but to be honest I already had red lipstick, concealer, black eyeliner, and white highlighter. I’m not sure if this is worth the price if you already have these items, but it is nice having them all in one place.

This is a really fun pallette to play with, I love mixing the colors especially the black and silver on my eyes. The only problem is that the colors crease horribly on my eyes, the silver and gold are the worst cream eyeshadows for creasing.

At first glance, the colours do not look too wearable – but upon application, I found that they are really versatile and flattering. The red makes a great blush, as well as a perfect lip colour, and layering a bit of gold over the red lip looks very glam. I used the black as liner, and the nude as an overall shadow. Very fun to experiment with, and the packaging is gorgeous!

No, I won’t buy it again, but it sooo nice… not only for dramatic evenings, but also for everyday use (if accurately dosed). It is not necessary, it is not a must have, but is so pretty…Not very satisfying the brushes inside.

I agree with the other reviewer. I think this palette is much nice to look at untouched rather than actually use. I think teh colors would anly suit dramatic evenings and are not out of the ordinary: i.e. most of us probably already have all these colors in some shape or form and don’t need this palette.
