Before this palette, I’d never owned any ABH products and I’m so glad I finally committed to it because this is quickly becoming my favorite eyeshadow palette of all time.
The issues I have with it are all pretty excusable considering the overall quality. Eccentric has given me issues and swatches patchy for me, however, the other mattes are all excellent, especially Love, my favorite matte of the palette. It blends so perfectly and smoothly with minimal effort. The two shades I was most excited about, Wild Child and Celestial, are not nearly as pigmented as some other shimmers in here. However, that’s not saying much at all because the other ones are quite seriously the most stunning metallic/shimmer shades I’ve ever used and are unlike anything else. Rose gold is a standout shade for sure. It is so creamy, foiled, and unique. Sometimes I will swatch a tiny bit just because looking at it makes me happy.
I have heard some people mention that Norvina lacks depth and I begrudgingly agree with that. I am rather fair skinned, but Passion, the darkest matte, still is not quite dark enough to add dimension to my looks. I have other palettes I can dip into but that pretty much means I can’t take Norvina with me alone while traveling.
Despite all this, Norvina is becoming my most used eyeshadow palette, and I’ve only had it for a month. The color story is right up my alley and my love of shimmer eyeshadows definitely helped solidify my opinion. I’m so happy this is a permanent item, I wouldn’t be able to handle parting with it.

It’s an overpriced palette. Colors are beautiful though, but a drugstore palette will perform just as good. Nothing special you don’t need it.

I like having neutral palettes…you know, tans, pinks, taupes, etc, but it gets boring. And it seems a lot of the new palettes in the past year or so are very warm toned, which doesn’t look good on me, or they are what I call “clown” colors – I mean, who really wears yellow, neon pink and purple, lime green, or orange eyeshadow? Sure, there are a few people – and more power to them if they can pull it off – but are there that many wearing those shades that the market is so saturated with dozens of those crayola color palettes?
What I like about the ABH palettes is that they don’t look like all of the other palettes out there. The colors are interesting and unique but still wearable. This particular palette has such a gorgeous mix and I find myself throwing together shades I never would have thought of combining. There are cool tones, warm tones, mattes, and creamy gorgeous shimmers. The color collection inspires a lot of creativity, and there are some brights, but they can easily be played up or played down depending on how much you apply, how much you blend. The possibilities are endless.
These are pigmented and powdery shadows and should be handled gently by barely touching your brush to the pigment and applying sheer layers until you build up to what you want. There is a lot of kick up dust and a little fall out, some shades more than others…but nothing I can’t live with.
I do have an issue with the packaging, a smokey lavender velour-looking fabric, which is going to be smudged with shadow dust and other marks from my makeup, and likely look like crap within a few weeks. Very pretty brand new, but why they would choose a palette cover that can’t be wiped off and will actually attract dirt, I don’t know.

In the Norvina palette you get 14 shadows in a even mix of seven mattes and seven shimmers; Dreamer (Metallic pink champagne), Summer (Foiled golden topaz), Wild Child (Duo chrome frosty pink with a magenta shift), Rose Gold (Metallic rosewood), Celestial (Duo chrome plum with a violet shift), Dazzling (Cool-tone bronze with a violet shift), Drama (Duo chrome aubergine with a cool bronze shift), Base (Matte eggshell), Soul (Matte wisteria), Incense (Matte dusty terra-cotta), Love (Matte mid-tone cool pink), Volatile (Matte warm charcoal), Eccentric (Matte dark burnt orange) and Passion (Matte deep garnet)You also get a double-ended brush, with is surprisingly high quality and is something that I regularly use.
The colour story is very ‘me’; you get a nice mix of safer-yet-not-too-generic ‘suitable for everyday/work wear’ shades in Norvina, with some lovely, softer, colour pops in some of my favourite shadow shades [pink, purple & periwinkle]. The shadows all have fantastic pigmentation, everything is easy to blend & build up, and there’s no heavy shimmer/glitter that doesn’t adhere to skin and goes everywhere, plus everything is crease & fade resistant. I’ve not had any issues with shades skipping or oxidizing to feedback – I believe those problems are being caused by people applying too much product and/or over-blending the soft shadows. Speaking of soft shadow; there is kick-up with most of the shades in this palette when I dip my brushes into the pans, but that is something that never really bothers me as long as the powders apply and perform well, which these do.
As the shadows are so soft, it is easy to mix shades together, to create new ones – very handy since there is only one deeper matte shade [Passion] included in this palette, which is a bit of a downside if I’m being critical – Volatile and Incense don’t look very dissimilar on my skintone, so I’d have rather had a deeper matte in place of one of them,as most of the mattes are a similar depth.
I really enjoy my Norvina palette and haven’t had any issues with the quality or layout – like with Subculture & Prism, I think it’s just a question of preferred application technique with the very soft shadow, rather then good batch versus bad patch. I think that if you are used to using softer shadows and aren’t a big shadow blender, then this palette will work for you. If you prefer to use a firmer hand for shadow application and love your blending, then you might want to sit this one out.

I have four Anastasia palettes and this is one of my favourites, coming second to ‘Sultry’. The only reason I wouldn’t buy it again is that I know that if or when I do hit pan on all the shades, ABH would have bought out another palette which I would have bought! This is a more neutral toned palette, which is probably why I like it more than the ‘Soft Glam’ for example, which is warmer. I love the pale cream ‘Base’ shade which actually has a very slight shimmer to it, but only slight…I don’t usually use cream shades a lot but I love this, for brows or inner corner as it is so pigmented – if you prefer a less shimmery highlight on your brow then I highly recommend this. ‘Volatile’ is such an interesting matte brown. It has a muted medium/deep taupe with a slight mauve tone to it….great for crease. All the shimmers are stunning in this palette. Creamy and so pigmented. My favourite is ‘Dazzling’. What a beautiful antique bronze shimmer foil this is. If there was one con with this palette is how quick you can hit pan on favourite shades, as they are pressed so softly in the pans as all ABH palettes are, but I don’t really mind.

This is the first and only palette I own which features pink and purple shades (I typically go for warm palettes) – it is also the only one I will ever need. The color story of this palette is just stunning IMO; I can state with all honesty that I love every single shade. I find these all to apply well and I get no patchiness. Application is smooth, and the colors are easily buildable. For me, fallout is minimal. I can get many looks out of this mixture, and I would say ABH knocked it out of the park with this one. If I had to critique anything, the shade Drama is not creamy like the other frost shades… With the exception of Drama, all of the frosts/shimmers are beautiful and perform like a dream. The mattes are unique shades which I do not have in any of my other shadows.
I feel this palette works for both cool and warm lovers, and that it is well worth the money.

I’m a die hard Urban Decay, Tarte & Too Faced fangirl but some of the shades in the newer ABH palettes are so gorgeous I just had to try them. I was pleasantly surprised at how great they are! These shadows are very pigmented, buttery & smooth. The dual ended brush that comes with it was surprisingly decent too, although I find myself using my Morphe set to avoid cleaning the brush after each shade. This is one of those palettes that I feel like I’ll actually use all of the shades- they are all pretty & blend together well.
The only reason for not giving 5 stars across the board is the amount of kickback you get when you dip into these with your brush. They are so soft that you can just lay your brush on them & pick up enough pigment, so be super careful or you’ll have a huge kickback and fallout mess. After I figured that out application went smoothly & blended like a dream. You will need to use a glitter glue or wet brush for the foiled/glitter shades to get the full pigment on your lid. They still look good with dry brush application, just don’t pop as well as when you use moisture to apply.

My 14 year old is obsessed with ABH palette and get them at Ulta usually. She claims they have “good pigment” and wear well for her.

I debated on buying this palette for a very long time but I finally got my hands on it.
I was allured by the pretty plums and purple shades. My entire life I have been looking for a pigmented purple eyeshadow palette. I’ve tried everything from low to high end and I’ve never found a good purple eyeshadow. They were always too patchy and faded to nothing in a matter of minutes.
The purples and plums in this palette are very easy to use and aren’t patchy. I wore Soul and Celestial on Labor Day weekend and went to a pool party and it stayed on even after I dunked my head in the pool. It’s definitely different enough to add to my collection but familiar enough to be practical and realistic about the shade range.
Definitely recommend to anyone that is looking for something different but familiar.

I really love the palette for the pink and purple shades. Some reviews that I had watched before purchasing complained of the lack of deeper crease options, I don’t think that it is really an issue for me because it’s not too much work for me to grab anther palette or grab a single that I use for contouring.
Passion, Volatile, and Incense are shades that I like to use to blend the crease upwards toward my brow or soften the edges of my shadow on the outer corner. In my opinion there is less fallout than the Modern Renaissance and I do like that the palette is half matte half shimmer and not full of extremely light mattes that I personally wouldn’t have use for, such as Warm Taupe, Golden Ochre, and Tempera from MR. I was surprised at the pigmentation of Love, mostly because at face value it it similar to that cursed shade from the TF Chocolate bar called Strawberry Bon Bon that is super chalky. Love and Soul can both be used as lid colors alone or on top of a white base.
I find that the shimmers sometimes come off in chunks and if you apply your foundation before eyes, the shadow will smear when you try to remove it because of how soft and creamy they are. As beautiful as these shimmers swatch and how smooth they apply on my eyes, they crease like no other on my slightly hooded eye shape. Even when I try to be particular in where I apply them, keeping them on the part of my lid that is visible when my eyes are open so that it does not end up in the crease/fold area, I always end up with a streak of shimmer in the matte of the crease. (sorry for that super long sentence lol) Luckily it is not something that can be seen when my eyes are open. I am not opposed to shimmer in the crease, but it depends on the look I am wanting to create so I would be mindful of the different formula.
The color scheme is fun and different from other palettes that I have, I enjoy using it.
