Just finished my first bottle and this is a great moisturizer for my combo acne prone skin. Easy hydro pump dispenser makes for no-fuss application and no clogged nozzles. It’s hydrating with no residue and never left my skin feeling dry. It lasted longer than I expected, looking at the size but it dispenses a perfect amount to cover my face and neck. It played well with any makeup I used also. My only complaint which isn’t really a complaint but initially there’s a weird scent that kinda reminds me of gasoline or something similar. I know that’s weird but there’s something odd about the scent upon contact. Besides that, I love it.

I’ve been using this facial moisturizer at night for a long time, maybe 7 years, and within the past two years I started using it both day and night (I was using elta md SPF but am trying not to use chemical sunscreens anymore). I am not sure if it’s the best moisturizer of all time, but my face really likes it, and any others I try, I dislike more than this one.
It is not a heavy moisturizer, but with my face having dry cheeks/nose and oily everywhere else, this moisturizer does a good job of giving me zero issues year round (in a Mediterranean climate). I don’t have dry skin, excess oiliness, redness, or breakouts after using this moisturizer.
I will probably continue to use this for a very long time, despite the $40 a pop price tag.

I got a pretty huge sample in a Birchbox and have been using it for several months. My skin is rather dry so it’s surprising that this worked as well as it did as a non-SPF day cream during the fall. The texture is like a thicker gel and absorbes really quickly without leaving a residue. However, I wouldn’t recommend this for people with dry skin during the winter since it just doesn’t pack a punch, but it’s perfectly OK for the warmer half of the year. Oh, and this stuff lasts a while.

Though this product is quite expensive ($42.00 for 1.7 oz.) I am giving it 5 lippies. Here’s why:
Some time ago, I received a generous deluxe sample of this (1 oz.) in a Birchbox. I set it aside and forgot about it until one day I needed a little moisture for some dryness on my cheeks. As a facial moisturizer, this stuff is really good. A very small amount goes a long way. It sunk into my skin easily, did not leave a greasy residue and did not cause any breakouts. The dryness went away immediately.
Here’s the part where I become amazed:
I pumped out a small amount and what I couldn’t use on my face, I rubbed the remaining amount on my elbows. I have very bad plaque psoriasis on my elbows. It itches, becomes raw, is rough to the touch…but this stuff softened and soothed it on contact. My elbows were smooth and soft and it relieved the horrible itchiness. While it’s not a cure, it is an immense help. When my elbows flare up, I use 1 pump of this stuff (1 pump helps both elbows), and I’m good to go. Instant relief.
If you suffer from psoriasis like I do, try it. You just might be amazed too!
Oh, and if you’re a member of Birchbox, you can get this stuff at a good price when you redeem your feedback points.
Amazing. 🙂 🙂

This is my go-to daily AM facial moisturizer for the spring/summer months. Sephora has stopped carrying it for a few years now, but I’ve been purchasing at Ulta and DDF.com. It’s expensive, but I have yet to find a comparable inexpensive alternative (let me know if you guys find one!). I love that it’s oil-free, fragrance-free, and provides the perfect amount of moisture for my acne-prone, combination skin in the spring/summer. No breakouts for me. It does get drying in the winter, so I switch to a heavier moisturizer. I dab it on every morning and spread – application is smooth and flawless. It works great under my daily suncreen Biore UV Perfect Face Milk and Revlon Colorstay Foundation.

To be clear, I’m giving this moisturizer 4 stars not because I think it is an exceptional product, but because this is one of the only moisturizers (thus far) that does not break out my sensitized skin. I remember using the original formula nearly 10 years ago, and never being overly impressed. That is how I still feel, although I accredit my light dissatisfaction to my dry skin type.
This moisturizer functions adequately under makeup, and provides a small amount of moisture. I would recommend this for any acne-prone skin types, but specifically oily skinned girls. I think if my skin weren’t dry, this would be an adequate moisturizer for me.
The price is high for the longevity of the product’s life (each 42 dollar bottle lasts a maximum of two months).
Overall, I will continue to purchase until I find a moisturizer that doesn’t break me out and actually provides proper hydration. I would recommend this moisturizer for incredibly acne-prone or sensitized skin.
EDIT: It’s been a while since I reviewed this, and I am editing to state that despite this product being overpriced, I will continue to repurchase and refrain from seeking a new moisturizer. This truly is moisturizing and balancing, and works well the tinted moisturizers I alternate over it for mild coverage.

I just recieved this sample recently in my Birchbox, and was very excited to try it. I am disappointed because when I first put it on, it is amazing. Feels great on the skin, soothing, lightweight and refreshing. Smells good too. Unforntunately its does not last the full day. Around lunch time I look at my face in the mirror and see dry patches under my make-up. Not a great look. Not good if you are the least bit prone to dry skin. I really wanted to like it, so it is a shame.

I have been using this moisturizer for years and I love it. It doesn’t break me out and it provides me with just the right amount of moisture. It’s not heavy at all, more like a gel consistency but it is not gel. This will not work for those who have dry skin. I apply this in the AM only before I do my makeup. The only downside is that it is kind of expensive for such a simple and clean moisturizer but since it is so hard for me to find one that is light weight for my oily skin and doesn’t break me out, I will stick with this.

I got a few samples of this from Sephora and at first I really liked it. It felt light and soaked in relatively well. I will not repurchase it but let me tell you what I found happened with this product and my skin.
First off I am combination/oily skin type and this wasn’t moisturizing enough for my oilier skin which is pretty sad since it needs VERY little extra moisture to be nice and smooth.
I also noticed that it dried too quickly and would ball up and fall off my skin sometimes which is really not ok.
Those reasons taken into consideration…the finally kicker was it broke me out. My skin had been clear for weeks and after 3 days of this…I got 4 new zits in places I DONT break out…like cheeks and neck. I stopped using it and bam all blemishes are healing and no new ones.
I only gave it 2 stars because the stuff doesn’t smell horrible and feels silky at first and does give some moisture but for me I just don’t think it is a good fit.

I was excited to try this because I had so much love for the DDF glycolic toner, I thought perhaps my face would respond as well to this, too. Well, it didn’t. Luckily I only bought some sample packets on Ebay to give it a shot–because as soon as I stopped using this, a cluster of small clogged pores and zits began to clear across my forehead. Thankfully since my wedding is this weekend. I was sad since this lotion sank in so well, and my face felt like velvet…but, red flag…I see there’s BEESWAX in this facial lotion. I fail to understand how this is a “lite moisturizing dew” with stinkin’ wax products in it. It’s among the top of the ingredients, too. Certainly will not repurchase.
