I use this Finishing Balm as a finishing balm. I cannot really use powder any more, but the tiniest dab of this balm on my T-zone or under my eyes will take away shine and perfect my skin without making it dry. This stuff is amazing! It’s even good on its own without foundation, but I did not like it as a primer underneath foundation. It seems kind of pricey, but honestly, it will last a long time because you only need the amount that’s about the size of a grain of rice.

I don’t understand what this product is for. It doesn’t make you glowy at all, it doesn’t moisturize, it doesn’t work as a primer – the product balls up and is tacky on the face and causes makeup to slide, it irritated my face and caused me to break out every time I wore it, it smears make up when used as a finisher. I just don’t understand what this is doing for anyone. I’ve even just worn it alone to see if it would blur imperfections like a traditional primer, but it seemed to highlight skin texture I didn’t even know I had. I was also disappointed with a very unpleasant smell. For my money, if I want a glowy moisturizer I’d go with glam glow glowstarter, if I wanted a glowy primer I’d go for cover fx illuminating primer or smashbox illuminating primer. This is neither primer nor moisturizer nor highlighter. I don’t know what this product is and am so confused why anyone would want this. And the packaging is fine aesthetically, but I hate tubs of product because you’re contaminating the whole jar every time you dip anything into it. I’d prefer a squeezable tube.

I have very oily skin, but this product makes my skin look & feel amazing. I wash my face with Tatcha deep cleansing face wash, tone with Clinique #3 toner, apply Glow Watermelon face moisturizer, then last but not least this wonderful balm by Josie.
It holds moisture in your skin while adding an iridescent natural light to your skin to brighten it up. You don’t need much, but she could of offered a lot more of this product at the price she is charging.
I put my foundation on (mixed with ELF Makeup Matte), add some color with the Josie Maran Vibrancy palette, apply my Josie Maran mascara, and dust over my face with my Coty translucent airspun powder. Set with my Morphe spray and my face looks fresh, not oily or dewy, but bright and natural. My skin texture on my face is starting to match up with the rest of my bodies skin as I use her Argan body butter for skin hydration and moisturization.
Makeup usually last the whole day without moving in this AZ heat. All in all I would buy again, but probably off of Ebay or another site. It’s kind of pricey for the little amount given, but my skin looks and feels wonderful!

Received a sample foil of this in a little bag at Sephora for spending over $40, and I’m glad I got to try a sample. I have dry skin with enlarged pores on my nose and chin, as well as some fine lines, scarring, and hyper-pigmentation. Has a wonderful creamy consistency, and I tried it as primer and as a finishing balm. I made sure to pat on, rather than rub. Didn’t really do much as a primer, and only disrupted my foundation when I used it as a finishing balm. Tried it out with only sunscreen for a no makeup day, and didn’t do much other than accentuate my pores. As well, I found after two days of use I ended up with huge blackheads and clogged pores around my nose. My skin cleared up once I ceased use.

I find this balm works very well as a primer under liquid makeup, but as a finishing balm. Leaves skin “glowy” without a “wet dewy” finish. It’s almost a satin finish. Fills in pores nicely. A little pricey, but I like I can apply as primer and a finishing balm.

I got a deluxe sample of this balm with a Sephora order. I love Josie Maran’s products; I already use the Argan oil and milk.
For the most part I use this to “set” the argan oil at night. Without it the argan oil/argan milk combo just sits on my skin for a while and then rubs off on my pillow. But when I put on the finishing balm, it helps the argan oil absorb faster.
As a primer, it works pretty well! It claims to mattify, but I don’t think that’s accurate. It leaves a more satin finish on my skin, though once I put foundation on it doesn’t seem to affect the finish. Considering the amount of product you get for the price, I’m not totally comfortable using it as a primer. I can get ones that have a similar effect for less. I’m with others that Josie really needs to make an XL version of this product – 0.5 ounces just isn’t enough. All that being said, I really do like it as a night cream and will continue to get it for that purpose.

This is a staple of my morning routine. This Primer leaves your skin looking matte and very soft. Be careful not to apply this with too many layers of mousturizers because it can pill. My more detailed review video is below.

Love, love, love. Josie has created a new category: moisturizer, primer then sealer and highlighter. Go girl.
Application: Pat lightly little dabs on skin. It is skicky, tacky, but it settles into a nice smooth texture. In winter months (now) I am doing extra around nose where I can get flaky
Finishing balm: Again, pat small amounts on top of your skin instead of a finishing spray. Melts any power into the skin. Any “smearing” will disturb your makeup, and if you over-apply, it can be a mess. I then put some extra on the cheekbones for a little highlight.
Pros:
-Multitasking, innovative
-Eradicates any cake-iness and gives a dewy, not greasy, finish
-Great for slightly dry skin
-Option to use as a highlighter
-Adds wear-time to makeup, beautiful finish
-Plays well with all types of foundations, or looks good on it’s own as a blurring product
Cons:
-I think if you have oily skin this would be an absolute no-go
-Price has been a complaint in many reviews, however I think small amounts do the trick
-Packaging Since this does look like an “alien disk” or something, it is kinda hard to work with the lid when your hands are greasy. Maybe a tub or something? Hence one less star

Great iridescent primer! Priced relatively correctly like the other products in the line ($44CAD) and applies smoothly over the argan oil (which I love). This cream gives your skin a matte finish while blurring your skin’s imperfections to create a perfect blank canvass. I actually found my skin too perfect looking after applying this to my skin, and this is the only reason I won’t be buying this, it made my makeup look unnatural. It gives your skin a velvety finish that works amazingly well under makeup.
