I love this product! I’ve been using it for almost 2 years and it has drastically improved quality of my skin. I have oily, acne prone skin and since using this I have few were breakouts and reduce the appearance of fine lines. I apply it at night before I facial moisturizer. I will continue to use this and recommend it to everyone!

The CeraVe Skin Renewing Retinol Cream Serum is a good retinol serum, especially for those of us with dry skin, sensitive skin, and acne prone skin. This is also a great retinol option for first time retinol users because (I don’t know for certain) I think this contains a lower retinol percentage than many other retinol products. I suspect the retinol percentage is around 0.40 percent based on my experience using this as opposed to other stronger retinols I’ve used in the past. I wish companies would tell us what percentage retinol is in products, it is so helpful when using i so you can tailor the rest of your skincare routine around it. I tend to use this product on days when my skin feels to dry for my normal 1% retinol serum. I also use this on days I use other actives, such as my AHA serum. I also absolutely love the packaging, nice and convenient for travelling. This is much more of a cream than a serum, and I find the texture to be moderately hydrating. I use this after my normal serum but before my thicker moisturizers in the evening. Love the price as well. My more detailed video review can be seen here: 8

In short: My face just drinks this up and I look tight and glowy!
Backstory: I’ve been using Retin-A for about 2 years now (see my reviews). It’s really strong stuff so I wanted to ease up on it. I bought this cream serum for $25 at London Drugs because I like their facial cleansers.
On first try my skin soaked this up right away and after a few days, my complexion looks smoother and brighter. It seems best to wear at night; it seems a bit too heavy for daytime (for me, anyway).
As I get older, I realize how important it is to build collagen to prevent facial sagging and wrinkles. I see men and women both younger and older than me who have a lot of sagging and creases and I really don’t want that. The Retin-A has done it’s job with building collagen and this cream serum is an excellent, low-irritating, hydrating supporting player in my skin care regime.
The tube is a bit confusing at first. I bet everyone SQUEEZED the tube first, only to realize the little pinhole is where the pump forces out the cream!
Before I forget, topical skin care is very important, but don’t forget to go outside and get some exercise too to increase your blood circulation and reduce water retention! You know, get a glow the free way =)

I really love the way this product worked. It left my skin more refined and radiant. It definitely brightened skin and minimized fine lines. The texture is thick and a bit heavy on the skin but settles in nicely after some time. Wish it was cruelty free.

I was looking for something more affordable than OH Truth Serum but still effective and this product is it! My under eyes are nice and plumped and my skin is smooth and hydrated when I wake up. I actually use this morning and night under my moisturizer and I love it. I’m 43 so I’m starting to see some wrinkles and this serum has really helped slow that down.

Packaging is unusual in that it is a tube with a pump dispenser. Contains a smidge of retinol so I would not expect much wrinkle reduction with this product. I found this to be a very rich, hydrating moisturizer. I have combination skin and this serum ended up clogging my pores.

For a drugstore brand, I think CeraVe is very good. I just didn’t think it did much for my skin. I’m 58, skin is just starting to show fine line and wrinkles, and I need a different product. It didn’t irritate or break me out, it just didn’t seem to do much.

I’ve tried a few retinol products in the past & had very bad experiences (cystic acne under thick layers of cracking yet greasy skin…awful!). I started to think my skin simply could not handle a retinol, but after a few years of eyeing this serum, I decided to try it, & I’m glad I did.
I have had very little redness compared to other products (including glycolics), as well as very manageable flaking & purging. For ppl with sensitive, thin but acneic skin, this is an awesome product. My skin tone and texture are noticeably improved, & my skin doesn’t feel greasy or parched when I awake.

Oh my gosh, what a wonderful serum. So rich and affordable to boot!

I have dry, breakout prone skin and this is HG status for me. I use a rx retinol (cream) that makes my skin extremely dry – prior to this, I was literally using aquaphor on my face before bed. But this leaves my face even smoother and more moisturized, minus all the grease. My skin is so soft when I wash it in the morning. Definite rebuy.
