this moisturizer is great for those who have an oily t-zone or large pores. it doesn’t feel as moisturizing as other moisturizers I’ve tried, but for my combination skin (leans towards the oily side) it’s just perfect. a little goes a long way with it. it has a pump, so I use 2 pumps per use. the packaging is fantastic and it seems like it’d last a very long time. they only downside of the packaging is that you can’t see how much left is in there.
overall, great product for those who like a matte complexion. it’s quite pricey but I think it is wroth the money.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:
I’m giving this a terrible rating because it was ridiculously expensive and did absolutely nothing to my albeit very oily skin. I was shiny within an hour and noticed zero difference with the size of my pores… and this lotions is $40!!! (In Canada.) I REALLY regret buying this because the sales person pushed it hard and because their rare earth mask is pretty decent (and pretty priced). Get a sample, don’t waste your money…
EDIT 1:
I’m upping this to 4 lippies because I realized I was just over-washing my face. I stopped washing my face in the morning and afternoon and only do at night now. When I use this in the morning with my new routine — which is just blot and apply homemade toner (tea tree, rose water, water) — I actually see a noticeable difference with oil reduction! I have almost 3 hours now before I need to blot — which for me is pretty good! Not sure about my pores though but if its reducing oil, its probably reducing pores and it IS still very expensive — so 4 lippies it is!
Would I buy it again?
I don’t want to buy it again but I will because it does a good job at mattifying and at least, it still isn’t as expensive as the high end mattifying moisturizers at Sephora.
I don’t love that the oil-reduction magic in this is from silicones. I’m on the fence about whether they break you out (havent noticed anything more than usual, but haven’t cleared up either) but they DO work by trapping oil/moisture/dirt under its layer so if you are not cleansing properly before using this (or any silicone-based primer/moisturizer/etc) you might break out.
EDIT 2:
Acne-prone gals — beware!! This contains two ingredients that are comedogenic:
Glyceryl Stearate SE is medium-high comedogenic.
Tocopherol (vitamin E) is medium comedogenic.
Maybe this explains the never-ending white heads I get… but what else to use? The search goes on. Meanwhile, I will continue to use this.

EDIT 3:
I’ve downgraded this to 2 lippies again.
I switched moisterizers after 6 months of this. ALL my small bumps cleared up within a week. I now use the Boscia black hydration which is the only moisterizer I’ve found so far that tackles the oilies without *any* type of breakout. It’s even more expensive than this though… sigh. Better than bein’ all bumpy!

Like the Tonic, I got this as a gift, and would not have bought it myself. I use it sometimes for some extra moisturization. I like that it’s not greasy, but can’t really say that it helps my pores, of which I don’t have a lot. I probably won’t buy this on my own.
