I have dry sensitive skin that has lots of redness, and is acne prone.
This mask surprised me as it did not dry out my skin or exacerbate my redness. It left my skin looking fresh and soft.
It also actually makes any current acne you might have slightly less swollen and red, although it does not banish it completely.
I would definitely recommend it if you don’t mind skincare that is on the pricier end. I stopped using it as the cost became too much of a factor for me.

this mask is amazing for acne and sensitive skin, but my only concern is that it can be super drying and leave a white residue.
I woke up with a white residue that wouldn’t come off and looked very ghostly. My skin was also very dry.
Make sure to remove this with hot water and a cleansing brush. AND MOISTURIZE and use essence RIGHT AFTER. Or else you’ll wake up with really dry skin and lips.

I have enlarged pores and I needed a product for that. So I asked for anything that can help me with it. A friend recommended this product to me and I did not like it first. Then I went to a Kiehl’s shop and told them about it, they told me to use it after shower or bath with other products (cleanser) and I saw the difference. I don’t see a visible change with the pores but I can feel the clean fresh feeling on my face when using it. I will keep using and update the review.

I have an acne prone forehead because of excess oil only on my forehead. My skin is normal everywhere else. I use this every 3 or 4 days on my forehead. It really sucks the oil out and smooths the texture of my skin. Been using for 2.5 weeks now. My forehead is less bumpy now and it calmed down the acne I already had. Have to be careful not to get it anywhere else on my face though. It dried out my temples after I smeared it on there the first few times. I would say it’s only suitable for oily skin or where ever you get oily.

It clears out all the junk in your pores and reduces the production of oil over time. I usually use this before a sheet mask/liquid-type mask, works amazing. Just apply a thin layer, thin enough to even see your skin.
I know it’s pretty tempting to apply a thick layer, thinking it’ll work better. But trust me, it works the same. So might as well just go with a thin layer, you’ll save money over time.
I think some people are allergic to the ingredients in this product, hence the adverse reaction. I have sensitive skin, prone to redness, but haven’t faced such issues even after using it for a year. You should probably get a sample over the counter first before buying the full size.

This is a very good clay mask, reliably clearing out pores, speeding up the blemish cycle, and rinsing off rather easily. I would give this 5 stars and definitely purchase again if it were not for the high price and the fact that I much prefer Origins Original Skin Mask (as it hydrates whist clearing pores, and is more sensitive on my sensitive skin). This mask goes on well, but ever so mildly stings my sensitive combo skin for a short period of time. This mask worked even better on my husband’s skin – so much so that his pores were greatly improved after just one use,& he achieved glass skin by the next morning (with using Skinfood toner and emulsion post-mask).

i’m a big fans of Kiehl’s product. I’ve used their calendula facial wash and toner, sunscreen, moisturiser, and now this.. hands down to the BEST CLAY MASK I’ve ever tried. i’ve tried several clay mask, like gl*mgl*w and s*ph*ra but they burnt and broke out my skin.. i’ve oily acne-prone and sensitive skin. after i used this, i do see significant changes that my blackheads are slowly gone and my pores are definitely smaller.
i broke out last week bcs of other skincare. and I follow skincare blogger, Liah Yoo, SOS skincare routine for acne on youtube. she said to use clay mask to remove the acne, and then hydrate with essence toner, sheet mask, and moisturiser. and IT HELPED ME!!
so i will re-purchase this jar once it is empty.. even though it is a bit pricey, i think it is worth it and the jar last quiet long time tho, since i only use it in my problem area, not entire face 🙂

DON’T BUY THIS! thank god i received a sample pack! IT BURNS MY SKIN! And my skin is not sensitive! Ouch! I need to use my LANEIGE SLEEPING MOISTURISER MASK TO HELP COOL MY SKIN!

I’ve been using this mask for 6 months, it was one of the items I picked up when I went to the kiehls store and bought a whole new skincare routine that’s only consist of kiehls products. In the beginning i used it twice a week because my skin was breaking out constantly and my t zone was super oily. Then when I saw that my skin was clearing up after a month of using this, that’s when I cut back and only used it once a week. The texture of this mask is incredible, it’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen before with a clay mask. It’s not gooey or messy. It has quite a dry/wet texture and when you put it on your face, there is a cooling feeling which is quite enjoyable and it doesn’t crack when it’s fully dried. In the beginning I only put it on my face for 10 minutes because I didn’t have any time to use face masks but now I leave it on for 15 minutes and that’s a real treat for me. It’s an incredible mask and you will definitely see instant results so if you’re on the fence about trying it then get off the fence and just go and buy it. You won’t regret it! Promise! Also this is the perfect mask to use in the summer time for people who tend to get super oily and breakout, this is your summer skincare hero! Or if you just live in a humid place, this is perfect for that too.

I made my own mud mask from the backyard. Essentially, it’s the exact same thing as this product. At least mine is locally made and doesn’t destroy the Amazon.
