This is by far my favorite MyChelle facial lotion. It’s not “oil free” like the name implies. I think the point is that it’s supposed to keep your face oil free as in controlling oil. It is nice and light but moisturizers really well. I would say my skin is normal, but on the dry side and this product does not dry my skin out. I do have occasional break-outs and this helps to keep them under control.

This is a very elegant moisturizer and treatment for normal to slightly oily skin especially for those that tend to breakout. I typically don’t need or use moisturizer–it is one of the big fallacies that everyone “needs” one, every day. Typically I prefer treatment serums, which provide enough hydration/moisture. But when I do need extra moisture– usually when I’ve overused tazorac or other treatment products–this is the one I reach for. MyChelle says this includes botanicals that inhibit acne, and indeed I have had no breakouts with this product. It does what it says, has a lovely light texture and smell and a great pump bottle.

I wanted to love this, I swear. I have oily, sensitive, flaky skin and I read ingredients lists like they’re erotic novels… the dreamy text about manuka oil, totarol and olive leaf extract, the fragrance of essential oils wafting in the air. But… it’s sticky. It looks like crap when I have it on, so I use it at night. It provides little moisture, and like another reviewer said, doesn’t mattify at all… At all! I have zero reduction in oiliness or breakouts, so I am searching for a benefit. I’m just trying to use it up and then move on. I have to say I haven’t been impressed with Mychelle products…
