I wish this wasn’t so expensive because it worked really well with my oily skin. Gel moisturizers are a great match for those who are more oily. It absorbs fast and really hydrates. I love it but can’t justify spending the amount of money it costs all the time.

I love this moisturizer. Been using it for a couple months now, used about half the jar. I use this solely as my night cream, as I find it too thick to use during the day under makeup. But that’s my personal preference and opinion, it’s possible that it may work under foundation…but I don’t wear foundation, I’m a concealer and powder kinda girl. I don’t want to say that this cream doesn’t fully absorb…but it does leave a moist finish, which is not ideal for use under powder products, in my experience.
Anyway, as a night cream this works very well at keeping me hydrated, and my skin is still plump and dewy come morning. I usual layer this with the Clinique Supercharged Concentrate for extra moisture, but it’s not absolutely necessary.
I’m not a huge fan of the original gel Moisture Surge, as that product doesn’t do much for me, dont find it very hydrating, and it doesn’t look too great under makeup for me (like I said, powder. Powder plus gel equals no thanks, too dry of a finish).
One important thing to note about this product, is that when you first start using it, you will notice it stinks. It reeks of alcohol or nail polish remover or magic markers…it’s just bad. When I used mine for the first time, I thought the product had turned rancid. But after some research, apparently that’s how it’s supposed to smell. It is unscented, and there’s no pretty floral scent to cover the chemical smell. But the scent disappears in a few seconds, and I find this cream to be super gentle. If it were filled with alcohol, my skin would burn and turn red, but it does not.
So…I will continue to use this cream for the rest of the winter, and do recommend it 😍

Holy grail moisturizer. I can’t believe I have been without this my whole life. It sinks right in (like literally disappears) and intensely moisturizes. The moisture lasts even when you wash your face. Like it’s actually moisturizing my skin rather than creating a fake feeling of moisturizing by sitting on top. My foundation looks so beautiful on top of this. It actually prevents my foundation from breaking up. I hope they never change the formula of this. This is quite literally a drink of water for your skin.

It’s a good moisturizer for my combination skin, nothing life-changing though. I have tried tons of moisturizers the last year but this is the one I like the best.
It works ok underneath makeup but my makeup still looks kind of dry/ cakey in some areas at the end of the day.
It also has an alcohol-y scent that dissipates as soon as you put it on your face.
I don’t like that it comes in a tub though as it’s not very sanitary.

DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT IF YOU HAVE SENSITIVE SKIN! I use the regular moisture surge & grew to love it! So I went in today & was telling the consultant my face has been extremely dry from winter weather & she recommended me try the moisture surge intense hydrator. So I get home and did my normal 3 step clinique acne products. I waited a few hrs & right before bed applied this and O.M.G within a few minutes my eye lids and everywhere around them were burning so bad!! It has literally burnt my skin from irritation soo bad! I dont know what they put in this crap & why its soo much more harsh than the original but they clearly need to discontinue this!!! If you have sensitive skin ect DO NOT USE THIS!

I have really dry skin. Liked the idea of having a 72 your moisturizer. In hindsight am happy that I purchased the smallest jar, my skin broke into rashes. Also felt this left my skin dry.

According to Paula Begoun, who I’ve been following for over 30 years: “Research makes it clear that many of the best ingredients for skin—including antioxidants and anti-aging champions like vitamin C and retinol—break down in the presence of air. Essentially, opening a jar lets air in, causing these important ingredients to begin deteriorating, becoming less and less effective with each use.” If you want to become better educated and keep your skin looking youthful like a mine does at 55, you need to do your research about products so you don’t waste your money and buy products that are in airtight containers.

This product isn’t the best, but I find myself repurchasing it as it does it’s job, it looks pretty on my counter and it never breaks me out. It’s good because it does exactly what it says it will, and very quickly hydrates your skin.
I like using this in between heavy moisturisers to give my skin space to breathe, yet not allowing it to get dry at all.

I bought this product because my face was dry after 1-2 weeks use I got cystic acne and many blackheads which is unusual for me, once I stopped using the product it cleared up. I did appear to hydrate some areas but, then areas around my nose started getting drier and flaky. It also made my foundation patchy even after waiting 15 mins for it to dry.
An expensive product and I sill have lots left! So I now just use it as an under eye cream at night. The packaging is cute though, and I like the glass container.

I got this in a deluxe sample size from a bonus & I gave it to my mother to use & I think she’s enjoying using this in the winter Bc she has extremely dry skin especially during the cold winter seasons & this cream has a lot of silicones in it to moisturize her skin ! But I would not buy it for her Bc the jar packaging sucks! It’s unsanitary & the good ingredients go bad inside it ! Clinique makes a lot of great creams but unfortunately they are in jars like the Paula b lady says! But since this was a add on free bonus it’s fine to try but not buy ! LOL!
