   Ugh, this cream is terrible. Just a note: this is not to be confused with the Le Blanc Whitening Cream, although I’m sure that one is equally as terrible. I had a deluxe sample from a past purchase and received another with a more recent purchase. My first impression of this cream was the heinously strong perfume scent that would not dissipate. An hour after applying it, I could still smell it on my face which makes you wonder just how much added fragrance there is. Regardless, I still wanted to give it a chance so I vowed to use up at least one tube, which would have been 2 more applications tops. Second time I went to use this, I must have picked up the older tube because the product smelled straight up rancid. I understand this happens to products – they go bad when they sit for a long time and even though I didn’t have it in my possession for more than a couple months, I had no way of knowing how old the sample actually was. That being said, what I found alarming was the overwhelmingly strong smell of alcohol. Come to find out it’s the second ingredient on the list. Parfum was also way too high up on that list. While this cream did not break me out with one application, I can’t even begin to imagine the affect prolonged use would have on the skin with all the alcohol and added fragrance. At $139 for 1.7oz there are much better high-end skincare alternatives that don’t contain such harsh ingredients in such large percentages. It seems like most of these high-end designer makeup lines like Chanel and Dior produce skincare that COULD be great, but they insist on perfuming everything within an inch of its life to make it appealing to the consumer, thereby rendering the beneficial ingredients utterly useless.

   As a side note, I love how neither Chanel nor any of the retailers list the ingredients on their websites – I had to actually look on a box at a counter to see the list. They just have the “key ingredients” listed which includes some gimmicky “pearl extract” where the overall consensus of objective reviewers has been that there doesn’t seem to be any scientific support for the claims made. Threw my samples in the trash with a vengeance.
