A pretty solid serum, it’s good in the morning and evenings before lotion. I didn’t expect too much out of this, and I just like having an extra layer of moisture and added benefits for my skin routine. As for whether this serum actually made my face luminous.. well, I can’t say I notice any significant difference. The smell of lavender has also grown on me, and I wouldn’t mind repurchasing in the future!

Initially I said I would not re-purchase but I now love this serum so much I definitely would! the natural lavender fragrance has really grown on me and I find it easy to mix with other serums or oils depending on my skin concerns (I am terrible for doing this). Not a typical serum texture – more of a lotion. Pump dispenses too much so just give it a light squeeze. Use less than you think you need as it is quite rich and you will probably only need a light moisturiser over it, if at all. It is gently hydrating and feels like its doing my skin good. It’s not dramatic but it has a high feel-good factor. Results are gradual, so you may not have a luminous complexion right away. I love the organic ingredients and also love the Avalon Vitamin C range including the facial serum and face wash.

To start off, let me say that my skin is REALLY dry. Not dehydrated, which is what many people should be saying when they say “dry skin”. Dry skin has teensy pores, making it hard for stuff to penetrate and soak in, therefore you need a killer face routine just so you don’t feel like you’ve had one to many face lifts or it hurts to smile. I read about the difference in an article, and that article said to find something with hyaluronic acid in it. I also have sensitive skin though (products don’t cause acne but they make my skin look like a tomato) so I needed something gentle.
That’s why I bought this. It’s natural, which is a must for me, and it said it was made for sensitive skin and has hyaluronic acid in it.
However, it did not do that much for me. Its moisturizing, but not enough for my skin. For everyone else, this would be great, 5 star status I think. Although it didn’t calm the natural redness in my complexion (which it didn’t advertise, but it said “calming”) it didn’t irritate my skin at all. It didn’t leave an oily residue, and absorbed quickly.
Although it isn’t HG status, I will repurchase it if I can’t find anything else.
Another minor complaint. I don’t know if it’s just the bottle I bought, but the pump keeps getting stuck, so I have to press hard on it and then it comes shooting out and way to much product comes out 🙁

Great product for a very good price!
I like the ingredients, the little neat pump bottle and the fact that it is both hypo allergenic and natural as some other natural products have irritated my fragile fair skin.
This is a great serum that does indeed renew and soothe, and also works well on acne scars.
I have repurchased 4 times already! Highly recommend!

On my regular visit to a Whole Foods store at our locality, I came across to this serum and decided to purchase as I was also looking for a serum, rich in antioxidants yet easy on the budget. The product claimed that it contains Grape Seed polypherols, White Tea and many other essential oils. I love the genius packaging, its easy to use and very hygienic as well. Though you can instantly feel the oil content of this serum, yet my skin instantly absorbs this. After a couple of hours, my skin looks bright but not greasy. I will definitely make an update on my review as it is still early to tell if this is my HG serum. UPDATE: After using for 5 days, im alerted by tiny whiteheads on my forehead. But will still continue using this for 2 more weeks to see if the whiteheads will diminish as my skin is still acclimating with this product.
Update: The whiteheads did not go away. Only went away when I stopped this.

I am really surprised by the average rating for this serum so far. This specific serum is rated by Paula as “Very Good rating”. I use this Lavender interchangeably with Vitamin C serum (I am a hardcore organic convert now) and I really love my skin these days! I will say Vitamin C is better at evening out skin tone, whereas Lavender does too, but adds more moisture and smooths any irritation. Both have excellent amount and packaging to keep Vitamins active.
Do not buy it from Whole Foods or CVS for >$24. Buy it from iHerb.com for $14 and change and get $5 off your 1st purchase + free shipping using code HIH374.

It is a very soothing and somewhat moisturizing lotion. I use it before winter facial cream and I feel good with it. It sinks in really fast and I think my skin is very happy with it.
Update on Feb 4/2008: rate down to 3. I suspect this one made me break out, it was only one or two and I am still not sure if it was this one. It is very likely though…

Amazing! I picked this serum up at Grocery OutLet for $7.99 as an impuLse buy. No great expectations. When I first put it on I was pLeasantLy surprised by the cooLing effect. I have very thin, paLe, nearLy transLucent, 40+ skin & I immediateLy noticed a decrease in the appearance of the tiny veins that have begun to show on my cheeks. I used it night & day for severaL weeks & the resuLts were amazing. My skin has far fewer tiny Lines around my Lips & around my eyes AND the appearence of tiny veins has decreased so much that I have greatLy reduced the amount of make-up needed to cover them. It’s been Liberating & compLeteLy unexpected. I was so impressed after severaL weeks that I went back to Grocery OutLet & bought their entire suppLy!!! As of this writing it has been over 2 months & my skin has continued to improve. I have aLso noticed a huge improvement in the texture of my skin, it’s firmer yet softer & siLkier than it has ever been!

I have only been using this for a few weeks, but so far I really love it. I was finding that I continued to have flakies even after exfoliating, and just in general having some dehydration issues. I only use RAM 3X/week, and didn’t want to cut it down even further. I use this every morning under my moisturizer, and it’s really helping my skin look healthier and feel better. I don’t come home feeling oily or flaky, just remains nice and hydrated.
I realize that the vitamin C in this product is not stable and probably has already degraded, but it has so many other good ingredients I don’t worry about it. I wouldn’t recommend this for someone seeking a vit. c serum, though.
Update: I still really enjoy this serum. It does not contribute to my acne, and it’s great if you just need a little more moisture than an sunscreen can provide (but don’t want a full-on moisturizer underneath). I’ve repurchased twice.

I bought this serum, along with the Avalon Lavender cleansing gel, at a grocery store when I forgot my skin-care products on an overnight trip. Much to my surprise, it works really well. Calms down the redness in my face and provides just enough moisturization without causing any breakouts. Less expensive and more effective than a lot of other higher-priced serums. Will definitely buy again.
**UPDATE** Unfortunately I spoke too soon about the breakouts. I’m pretty sure it was this product that caused me to get a few zits on my face. Which is a bummer, because it really did help with the redness.
