One of my friends used the Ibuki line on a regular basis, so when I saw the opportunity to try out this product at a discount – I took it.
The softening concentrate is a runny gel consistency and has a strong scent that reminds me of my dad (specifically, Pro-Line HAIR FOOD but in a less noxious way). Despite the fragrance, I really like how this changed the quality of my skin. It’s made my skin soft and supple without over-moisturizing, in fact, my skin’s more balanced with this concentrate. I haven’t had flaky skin or acne since using it, so I take it as a good thing.

Really nice product! My sister bought it from an airport as a set together with sime other shiseido products (so im not really sure if its the normal one). I tryied it one time and i have been “stealing” it ever since. It makes the skin look a little more firm and it gives you an incomparable sence of freshness. I would definately buy it for myself when i get caught haha

I loved this softener, use it in place of my toner and i noticed a significant reduction in white/blackheads. It’s hydrating and i even skipped moisturizer sometimes and my skin was fine. The only downside is the price, it’s quite pricy for me for the amount you get. But i wouldn’t hesitate to buy this again if i can’t find a better substitute!

So this is a toner guys, just with a fancier name. I love how watery it feels, you just apply a little bit and it will instantly refresh, hydrate your skin.
Now of course I would always follow up with a cream right after this concentrate; on its own it won’t be hydrating enough especially when used overnight. You can always read more about it on my blog ( ). I typically use it right before serum and let it “bake” and get absorbed for a minute or two. Having this extra step in my routine actually helps my skin feel more plump and less dehydrated. I like this rather bizarre toner (because it does feel like water, yet still works). Just don’t expect it to do magic; it is what it is – a soothing layer of moisture.

I was not familiar with this new (to me) step off the typical Asian beauty routine until I was given a huge sample in a set with Ibuki items.
I just tried it and now this has become a staple in my skincare routine.
The product is a clear liquid with a slightly viscous texture. It feels a little sticky but spreads very easily all over the skin.
The purpose of the Softening Concentrate is to soften the top layer of the skin which allows products to be absorbed better. It actually does feel very hydrating however this cannot replace your serum & moisturizer/treatment afterwards.
I follow up with a serum and a moisturiser without waiting for it to dry (products absorb more easily and quickly into damp skin).
it makes my skin feel a softer and didn’t break me out nor feel sticky : I just love it and I adore the scent.
It is expensive, but once you have tried you will be hooked!

So i have had this product for about 1 year and i actually got the full size as a freebie for shopping at my usual cosmetics retailer. Before i start i’m going to let you guys/ girls know i have slightly sensitive skin.
I use this product day and night for 1 year now and i’m halfway through my second bottle, this product goes a long way. It the first thing i put onto my skin after a good cleanse and the faster you apply this the better it is for the next step of your skin routine.
1) The No.1 reason why i would recommend this to everyone is because it was only after i started using this product then did i notice my moisturizer absorb to its full potential.
2) Because it helps my moisturizers penetrate my skin better i’m also seeing softer and bouncier skin.
So i think this product have made a big difference to my skin and i will never look back using it and i’m so glad i got a freebie or else i would have never know, but i’m letting you know. Must try!

I initially really loved this softener. I then went into a series of breakouts and wasn’t sure whether or not this was helping to cause them. After my skin calmed down (thanks to the gentle cleanser from this line and Olay Complete moisturiser), I returned to using this (hesitantly at first but then I remembered how much I loved it at the start) and I feel it does help to my skin. My skin is smoother and pores seem smaller. I don’t use a cotton pad to apply, just a small pump on my palm to spread over my face like moisturiser. I have since repurchased.

I was surprised, I didn’t find any review here.
I’ve tried 5 IBUKI product.
-2 cleansers; gentle, purify
-2 moisturizer; refining , protective with SPF
-1 softening concentrate
By far I like this one the most (I haven’t tried the cream one : moisturizer enriched ).
It’s not a toner but more like a pre-moisturizer. It’s a viscous whitish opaque liquid with too strong floral scent. The result is like it’s name ; make my face soft, hydrated and next step of skincare goes on better. For oily areas using only this is enough, but for dry or normal areas, I would add another moisturizer after. Not clogging, no new acne which is a big plus. Despite the fact of strong scent, I still like the result enough to look pass that.
From 5 products of the line, this will definitely be the one I keep on purchasing.
Update after 4months of usage
I’m still loving it. this keep my skin at bay and pimple free. I’ve purchased 1 big bottle 150 ml and grateful for shiseido everyday.
I am acne free for 4 months now(before this I would have 1 new pimple/1-2wk)
Here is my latest routine

If my skin went more dry than usual,I just add some more moisturizer afterwards. Those moisterizers were old skincare I purchased before I found my ibuki. I just try not to waste products.
