I feel like Goldilocks when trying to find a sunscreen: this one is too oily, this one breaks me out but THIS one – and I call it a sunscreen rather than a moisturizer – is just right!
Granted the SPF is only 25 but my skin looks great, the irritation is minor all things considered, and the price isn’t a rip-off (which many sunscreens are becoming.)
Neutrogena pushes the hylauronic acid component in these HydroBoost products but the first two ingredients are water and glycerin.
That actually works for me.
Your skin is left with a sheen not a shine, makeup applies easily over top (I don’t use a full coverage foundation but a light one is fine) and it gives me enough sun protection to get to work.
This isn’t enough SPF for any significant time outdoors but if you spend much of your time indoors and not near windows, it works.

I bought and used this last winter as a moisturiser/spf. I usually avoid both fragrance and silicones, and this contains both, but at the time I enjoyed using it. It didn’t sting or break me out and my skin was in relatively good condition, although when the really cold weather hit and I ramped up my moisturiser this didn’t layer as well (which is my main beef with silicones – they just pill). ALSO, it’s only spf 25. Come on neutrogena, lots of us use retinoids and/ or take oral vitamin A and need at least spf40-50. I probably wouldn’t repurchase but I would recommend for those looking for an all in one moisturiser/ spf and who perhaps don’t currently use any spf.

Neutrogena discontinued one of my favourite moisturisers, Neutrogena Multi Defence Daily Moisturiser SPF 15. I therefore decided to try the Hydroboost City Shield. This product is simply not moisturising enough for those of us in our 40s. Also, I find SPF 25 too irritating for every day use. Neutrogena, please bring back Multi Defence Daily Moisturiser.

This is a moisturizer and/or sunscreen.
I am reviewing it as a moisturizer because I just love it.
It is light enough to use in the morning unter makeup but the hydration it provides is immediate and lasting. My oily skin seems to love it, it never broke me out and it doesn’t make me even more oily.
So far I’ve worn it unter foundation or unter tinted sunscreen with no problems whatsoever.
The Price is amazing, too. Just 11 euros!
Highly recommended!
