I’m really on the fence about this product, my understanding is that it’s not meant to be a stand alone moisturizer. It’s to be layered with other products as part of a routine, the problem with that is,product applied over this do tend to pill. I’ve layered sunscreen over this, pilling, I’ve layered this over C serum, pilling unless I wait about 10-20 minutes than apply this. I wouldn’t really say this is a serum either. It’s more of a lightweight gel. I like the hygienic airless pump. Now lets get to the ingredients…they suck. My fear when L’Oreal brought the brand is that they would ruin it. CeraVe was a stand out brand at the drugstore and one of the few that catered to those with dry, or sensitive skin. This has denatured alcohol as the fourth ingredient, drying and irritating not good for any skin type. isopropyl myristate, debatable if its good of bad. Also contains dimethicone, another product some try to avoid, along with a host of other questionable ingredients. I won’t repurchase, and would not recommend this, shame on me for not reading the label first. I trusted the brand enough to assume they don’t put crap ingredients in their products.

My skin had a late winter dryness spell. I bought this to boost the effectiveness of the CeraVe Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30. I’m not really impressed. It absorbs nicely at first but if I don’t follow with a moisturizer my face feels very tight. Even if I do follow with a moisturizer, I don’t feel much improvement over just the moisturizer. I don’t plan to repurchase.

So far I’ve liked most products CeraVe comes out with- usually a shorter ingredient list, fragrance free, and full of ceramides. The new CeraVe Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Face Serum was a new product I was excited for. I was thinking this might be a good morning serum to apply before primer and foundation. I was wrong. My first use of it was nice, it felt hydrating and set very quickly making it a good product to use under foundation. This is because denatured alcohol is very high up in the ingredient list. So at the end of the day when using this my skin actually felt drier and even a little flaky when I used this. Disappointing, so I’ve went back to my other products (cerave and other brands). E
