I’m always looking for the HG sunscreen, and this comes closest for year-round use. It’s a moisturizer with spf 30, which is what my derm says I need to wear every day at the very least because I have rosacea. Sunlight makes rosacea worse, so even in winter in England I need a good moisturizer with an spf of 30. And this product has it. It goes on smoothly, stays matte all day and – best of all – doesn’t leave a white cast. All the other sunscreens I’ve tried do, and although I’m very pale-skinned and it doesn’t show as much as it would on a darker skin, it’s still not a good look! Neither does the product pill or go shiny. It goes well under makeup, although I don’t wear a lot. Other reviewers say that Paula’s Choice products are a bit meh, not very exciting, and this is true, but as far as I’m concerned that is a plus! I have such sensitive skin that I don’t want bells and whistles and unnecessary ingredients in my skincare. The less, the better. And I’ll be buying this moisturizer again.
For sunny summer days, I’ll stick with my Anthelios spf 50 matte, as I do need the higher protection. But for everyday use, the Paula’s Choice HydraLight is excellent.
