My skin is almost normal except the times my Eczema relapses and changes it to superdry, sensitive, red and flakey.I bought this product when I was in one of my healthy, normal skin periods.as spring began, all of my rich, suitable for dry to very dry moisturizers felt too heavy and I bought Yves Rocher Hydra Végétal 24H Intense Hydrating Gel Cream on a whim, just because I knew the brand,it was written on it that it’s for normal to combination skin and that it wasn’t expensive(7.5 USD).I didn’t want to pay much for my normal skin moisturizer as I suffer from Eczema 80% of the year and there are very short periods that my skin behaves.
It says on it’s packaging that this formula contains more than 85% ingredients from natural origin.it’s colorant free, mineral oil free and paraben free..it also says: “our Botanical Beauty researchers have selected Maple and Blue Agave Saps combined with Botanical Betaine for their ability to moisture capture.as a result, they lock in a water supply deep inside the skin.perfectly hydrated throughout the day, your skin recovers it’s freshness.it is visibly plumped and beautifully radiant” instructions to use is: apply it’s fresh and light texture morning and evening on entire face
Now lets start the review
I LOVE this cream! and I never expected to love it as it’s not as expensive and hyped as the other moisturizers I usually use.it’s what I wanted Clinique Moisture Surge to be and it wasn’t
If you want a fragrance free moisturizer skip this one as it has perfume.when I first applied it I was scared that It’s fragrance may irritate my almost sensitive skin but fortunately it never happened.there was no redness, sting or irritation.I’m a perfume junkie and this is a fresh, soothing scent so I don’t have any problem with it until it doesn’t cause break outs.and yes,it didn’t clog my pores and didn’t cause any pimles(eventhough I usually have super dry skin,it’s also prone to tiny acne and blackhead and whiteheads,I have the best of both worlds :/ )
first days that I used it I wasn’t so existing to see how radient, smooth and plumped my skin looks.I thought it’s just silicone’s temporary effect but gradually I started to see that it’s really hydrating my skin.even relatives and friends had noticed a dramatic change in my skin,I even received complements like:you’re skin looks so healthy and glowy, are you on a special diet?
If you’d like your moisturizer to completely absorb in a minute you may not like this one.It doesn’t feel heavy or sticky on skin, not at all,but leaves a dewy, but not oily layer on skin for hours.I applied it every night and whenever I wokeup my skin was soft and hydrated.no dry patches.at the time that I used it there was no signs of Eczema but silly me traveled without it and had to buy another moisturizer which broke me out after a single use and my Eczema started.now that my skin is superdry and flakey, this Yves Rocher gel cream doesn’t do the job anymore.I have to use lipid replenishing rich creams but whenever my Eczema calms down,I will definitely go back to my beloved Yves Rocher Hydra Végétal Gel Cream as this one paired with Yves Rocher Nutritive Ultra Rich Velvet Face Wash made my skin look at it’s best
I haven’t tried it as a makeup base many times but few times that I used it with Yves Rocher Zero Default Comfort Cream Foundation,it performed well.foundation blended on it smoothly as if it was a primer
The only CONs I can think of is that it comes in a jar, even though it’s an elegant, good looking glass jar it’s not hygienic.however I solved that by using plastic spatulas instead of putting my finger inside it
The above photo seems to be the older packaging.I uploaded pics of how it looks like nowadays.it says on it’s packaging that it’s made of recyclable glass jar and it’s cardboard is from sustainably managed forests which is another plus
This moisturizer deserves being more popular.recommended if you’re skin isn’t extremely dry or extremely oily

I got a few foil packet of this product to try and it was alright, but nothing amazing. It sinked right into the skin, which is great, and felt lightweight and the smell was nice. However, it is not compatible with other silicon based product because when it comes in contact with my primer or my powder, it balls up in little clump and get removed from my face.
Because of that incompatibility with other products, I would not buy this product again. Also, I’m really not a fan of jar packaging.

I said WOW when I first use. then they change the structure. maybe ı end at least 5. but the effect is temporary .skin go back dry within a few hours . I think there is no effect for so dry skin

I have oily/combo skin and this product keeps my skin moisturized all day long. I also like the gel-type texture. I have acne-prone skin and it doesn’t giving me pimples! A little goes a loooong way. Yves Rocher offers a good price for the quality of the product.

I’ve spent years trying to find the perfect moisturizer, and to be honest I had little to no faith in this one, but after 24 hours I was pleasantly surprised. Like many others I have an oily T-zone, with large pores on forehead and cheeks as well as some dry patches. Hydra Vetetal leaves you feeling fresh and it truly lives up to its reputation, HOWEVER… I’ve used this for a few weeks now and it wasn’t until recently that my skin became red and itchy, I have a very sensitive skin and I’d advise anyone like me to avoid this product, if you’re lucky enough to not fall under this category then I say this is the product to go for, it smells great, it moisturizes and as an added bonus its fairly affordable.

This is a very comfortable moisturiser to use, absorbs into your skin reasonably fast. Suitable for hot weather. Another thing that I am really happy about is also the price you pay for it, very affordable. Only thing is if you’re very particular about the smell, probably sample it first. It has a cucumberish smell to it. I would expect something more “water” like since it’s boasting of 24H hydration.
Would really recommend this to those who are starting out on skincare for the very first time since it’s natural too. As for those who have specific needs or have mature/problematic skin, you will prefer something “stronger”. This is more of a really good basic moisturiser.

The best ever for my combo – oily skin type. this is just right for me, can’t ask more! highly recommended! non greasy. the only thing is this cream come in a jar not in a tube!
