I really liked this cream. For me it is the perfect consistency in a facial moisturizer. Silky almost whipped texture absorbs beautifully into the skin without leaving any residue. Skin is left soft and plump. It’s not a pure white cream but a slightly tinted cream, has a notable pretty soft clean scent (Clarins is noted for having scented products)… I enjoy their scents. Works well w/ makeup (I use powder base and stick formulas)- no separation or pilling. Definite repurchase!
Clarins products rarely disappoints me- big fan!

Belle crème hydratante. J’avais l’impression d’être incroyable sur ma peau et j’ai remarqué une réelle différence dans la souplesse de ma peau après l’utilisation de ce produit: ma peau n’était pas aussi sèche et semblait beaucoup plus brillante. Je recommanderai ce produit. Je pense que la seule chose à faire est que les produits Clarins sont des produits de luxe et sont assez chers, mais vous en avez vraiment pour votre argent

CLARINS Extra Firming Day Cream Review
I’ve been testing the Clarins extra firming day cream now for about 6 months and I am now ready to share my thought on this cream. I also created a short video review about the cream where I also show you the cream itself, how it applies and what I like and do not like about the product.

I prefer the nighttime version more than this daytime version, mainly because I find the texture of the cream too heavy for my oily-combination-normal skin for daytime use. I prefer that my daytime moisturizer is a lotion-sunscreen combined formula; separate sunscreen and lotion/moisturizer can prove to also be too heavy for my skin type.
As for results, I cannot say for sure that it treats/reduces fine lines and wrinkles. However, it does seem to (temporarily) combat fine lines and uneven texture by plumping the skin. It also makes my skin glow-y and dewy. Though, perhaps, this is simply because my skin has become overly oily from the heavy moisturizing texture of the cream. Perhaps this type of moisturizing cream is best for those living in drier climates, or during the cooler, drier, winter months with the heater constantly running.

I bought this as a sample set with 30 mls and really enjoyed this cream which has lasted almost 3 weeks. Its hydrating and yet not greasy and certainly does not clog up pores. There is a pleasant mild fragrance. I have given this a overal 5 start rating but as have other less pricey alternatives such as Neal’s yard almond milk moisturizer, I would probably not re-purchase,

I decided to give this cream a try as the night cream in this range is one of my favourite products. Unfortunately, I found it wasn’t anywhere near as good as the night cream and didn’t moisturise my skin at all (this was also the Special for Dry Skin), it felt like a film mask on my face. It reminded me a lot of the Beauty Flash Balm, which I also didn’t like. It wouldn’t surprise me if they had similar ingredients. Very disappointed.

Very disappointed by this cream. I know that no cream on Earth will actually “lift” or “firm” but I wanted something that would be kind to my aging skin and be hydrating, moisturizing, and nourishing. I am a big fan of Clarins base makeup products and wanted to try their skincare, so when in the market for a new day cream, the SA recommended this one. First off, it’s highly scented and the scent does not fade quickly…those who are sensitive to such things should skip this product. Secondly, it initially seems to apply nicely but after it starts to “set” it becomes filmy on my skin and pills off badly. I tried it after different cleansers and used it as different steps in my skincare routine and still had this result. It never quite absorbs and It’s impossible to wear under makeup for this reason as well. It pilled up under every foundation and primer I tried to wear over it. Of course the jar packaging isn’t the best because it’s messy and unhygienic, but I’m not put off by it as long as I’m the only one using it. Overall this cream was totally useless for me…I purchased it 7 months ago and 80% still remains in the jar. I kept trying and trying to get it to work but was unsuccessful. Big fail and huge thumbs down.

I’m about 2 months in to my first jar of the new Extra-Firming Day Cream and I’m loving it.
I am a huge Clarins fan to begin with. I’d been using the mens Wrinkle Control Cream but it wasn’t rich enough. My Clarins guy suggested this and it’s perfect. It has visibly smoothed my lines and moisturizes really well. It’s also just a real pleasure to use, one of my favorite things about Clarins. It smells fresh and expensive and the texture is sublime. I do think you can feel the primer in it, which is really soothing and smoothing. If you’re new to Clarins, be sure to visit their website to watch the videos about application techinques. It really makes a difference when you use these products properly.
I’ve been using this in conjunction with the new Extra-Firming Night Cream and couldn’t be more pleased. I will repurchase for sure.

I rarely write reviews on this site even though I find other people’s opinions very helpful but felt compelled to after discovering Clarins at the age of 40. For years I have been buying very high end and expensive products to keep the wrinkles at bay and also try to sort out pigmentation patches, acne scars and uneven skin tone issues. All have given mediocre results with some actually exacerbating the situation, probably due to being too “active”. I have always avoided Clarins because although patented as a natural brand, they do contain fragrance and mineral oil amongst other things, which are two things that I thought I was allergic to. Turns out I’m not! I bought the Generation 6 Serum and Extra Firming Day Cream (special for dry skin) from an extremely helpful assistant at John Lewis in Oxford Street who was 50 but looked about 35 (and a Clarins user) after having a makeover because they just felt so wonderful on my skin. Due to the fragrance and mineral oil content, I braced myself for a reaction but it never happened. Day two, still no reaction just wonderfully plumped and calm skin with redness all but gone. My skin has got better day by day until this serum and moisturiser have really reached HG standard for me. My skin has not looked this good for years and the best part is that the products are a fraction of the price I have been paying at Space NK. Interestingly enough, I bought the moisturiser for dry skin by mistake (I have combination skin which gets very spotty if the products are too rich) but my skin literally drank it up without any skin purging at all. I don’t really need to say it after this review but these products are amazing. Can’t wait to try out the rest of the range 🙂

Even though I have combo skin, I bought extra firming cream for dry skin, cause of the winter. I did not feel it very well, a little bit greasy,but the resaults were very nice.My skin looks firmer, brighter, and the lines softer,after one week of using.
I will buy it for sure again but for normal skin this time. I have tried a lot of expensive creams in the past and I think this is the best so far!
