My skin is super picky. One wrong ingredient and I break out terribly. But nothing has happened with this. I believe it does help to control sebum. It is matifying but I don’t find it overly drying on my combination skin which is never oily. I wouldn’t use it in winter though but it’s a perfect summer moisturiser to prep make up. And when I put it on at night my skin is really lovely in the AM

i used this product because this was recommended by the spa, and at that time i was freaking out because my pimples are popping out evrywhere my face. since i have an oily and very sensitive skin the owner of the spa recommend this. at first few days my face felt so soft and ok but after 2 weeks my pimples are getting worse making lines in my jaw.. so i stopped the product and and consulted to my derma instead…

“Creme Pur Equilibre”: Like many French skincare lines–think Decleor, Phytomer, Lancome, Clarins–this moisturizer is highly fragranced, botanical based, very concentrated, and is sold with the concept of skin typing / buy-the-whole-line approach. While working in the beauty industry, I purchased one tube of this and had another given to me. The second tube ended up getting thrown out after a year or so, as I could not bring myself to use it. Although I did not use the entire line as recommended, I found the creme (a cool light greenish blue shade) really did nothing for my combo skin, nor does it contain much sunscreens (SPF 4!) and/or antioxidant ingredients, as this line predates the whole cosmeceuticals approach. Unfortunately, it gave me the tendency towards inflamed breakouts of the sensitive sort. For what it’s worth, however, I could recommend this for combo skin which is more on the dry side with no sensitivities to herbal ingredients or fragrances. $36/1.7oz.

i dont know about this product, i’m a teen with oily/acne prone/combo skin and this didnt do much for me. I actually liked the smell to it but i found that after a while the cream turned colors and that totally threw me off. I dont think it turned old but i just didnt want to use it after it turned kind of green. Overall it didnt mattify me at all but it did moisturize.

I’m so glad I tried this product. I’ve used it all summer long along w/ the balancing serum and this combo works great for my combo skin. I am not super-oily, even in the summertime, so this cream worked well to moisturize my cheek area while not adding any additional oiliness, greasiness or shine like some moisturizers tend to do. Absorbs well. One point off for the heavy fragrance, but I’ve noticed this is typical of the entire Guinot line. As I am not that fragrance-sensitive, it doesn’t bother me enough to stop using it, but without such a strong aroma, I think this cream would be much more pleasant for daily morning use. I will switch from this to a more moisturizing formula as fall/winter approaches, but I’ll definitely keep this handy for next year or for times when I want to keep my makeup lasting longer & fresher. Good product!

About a year ago I used a full tube of this. Immediately what I remember first is the scent, very strong and floral, one that doesn’t fade very easily, and then I remember the performance. It didn’t seem to mattify my face at all, and at the same time, didn’t seem to help with moisturization. My face felt a little raw with use of this product, perhaps from the fragrance added, but I was wholly disappointed overall with this product. There are other products that do a much better job at what this claims to do.

I used this as a teenager and it confused me somewhat because I thought the consistency was a bit dry for a moisturiser! It is thick and a bit bulky but spreads in okay. It didn’t break me out and did an acceptable balancing job, although oilies weren’t eliminated on the T-zone. This isn’t moisturising enough for me any more. It might be good for the summer but to be honest there are other products in a simlilar price bracket that do a better job, like Caudalie C20. The fragrance of Guinot products, akin to Clarins, is quite old fashioned and lingering. I remember that I stopped using this when I discovered the Clean and Clear moisturiser which served me much better! But i don’t recommend that Johnson & Johnson brand these days- not animal friendly!:( Anyway, if C&C is better than this Guinot moisturiser (at least for teen skin) I say skip it.

I always find myself coming back to this particular moisturizing cream… it doesn’t do the best job with mattifying my oilier areas, but it’s lightweight, doesn’t clog my pores and moisturizes my drier spots without being too heavy on my skin. All of Guinot’s products are of high quality, and this moisturizer is no exception.
