I used to like the old version, white and blue bottle! I can swear by this cream! Its so smoothing and firming my skin used to feel so fresh brighter and energized in the morning. But day cream used to feel so oily, the night cream is absolutely does wanders. But Lancome have changed this formula to new bottle and probably some ingredients changed too its just not same it used to be. Its very pricey and wont last that long, this the only bad thing I can say.

Okay I’m reviewing the newest version of Lancome Blanc Expert cream. I’ve tried the older formula since 2011, in compare with the newer formula, Lancome took off the alcohol denatured in the day cream. (Except lotion and night-cream) Raise quite a lot of asking price, the rest of the ingredients look very similar.
I stop reviewing products for a year or two, because I been study cosmetic ingredients and I realized a lot of my older review were the days when I have very minor, limited knowledge on cosmetic ingredients. I armored myself with better knowledge now and willing to share some of the new (or old) product I been using.
Pro:
– This contain Ascorbyl Glucoside, a sugar form of Vitamin-C!
– Better then the previous day-cream formula. No potentially irritated alcohol denatured.
– Contain Adenosine *anti-oxidant* ingredient but in the lower ingredient list. (meaning they didn’t put a lot)
– This contain a lot, and I mean A LOT of slip-agent, thickener. (Dimethicone, Parkii Butter, Butylene Glycol, Peg-20 Stearate, Peg-100, Cetyl Alcohol) these are all before vitamin C. Its not exactly a bad thing… its very good for dry skin in winter time!
– Gel-Cream formula, its still on the heavy side, good thing is the whole jar last long. (Although you really shouldn’t keep jar packaging cream long… they deteriorate fast.)
– This does not contain SPF! For people like me who can’t take SPF ingredient, this cream definitely work better as Day/Night cream. (Stay away from the night cream version, its more money, surprisely shorter ingredient list with potential irritated drying alcohol denatured!)
Con:
– Jar package, even if I use extreme caution… the main ingredient Ascorbyl Glucoside can be deteriorated fast!
– Because this contain so many film forming and thickener… although the actual texture is very gel-cream, but its very sticky and can definitely leave “a lot of” residue on your skin.
– For people who prefer a “rich” but none oily cream, this is not the one! Especially not for summer!
– Overpriced…87$CND for only very very few helpful ingredients.
– This will create a cosmetic fake… dewy, shine residue… and that’s probably all the “whitening and brightening you can get!”
My lab friend also check out the whole Lancome brightening line with me. Lancome separate few helpful whitening ingredients into different products… (For example, Day cream contain Vitamin C, Night Cream don’t, instead they add a plant extract that help whitening pigmentation.) So in a way you have to get “ALL” the products from serum, day cream to night cream for potential *yet no guarantee* result.
One more important thing… these so called “Whitening” cream won’t alter your skin shade! It will reduce your pigmentation or past acne scar, but won’t bleach your skin shade. (You will have better luck with foundation)
Would I repurchase this after I finish my jar? Probably no… if only they can change the texture or even add in few more helpful ingredients, maybe I would!
