This product is marketed as a balancing moisturiser for oily / combination skin and I’m not sure if it lives up to the claims.
Pros: Super light consistency and absorbs really quickly. It does not clog the pores. The packaging is heavy and bulky, but it’s very sturdy, has a pump (yay!) and looks great.
Cons: Even though I’m super oily on my T-zone and I use a moisturising essence before going in with this emulsion, I feel this is not enough to keep my skin hydrated. I just don’t feel this emulsion does anything to moisturise or balance out my skin. Instead, it just makes my skin really shiny. I feel there’s a bit less oil coming through, but this effect wears off after a few hours and my skin starts getting weridly dry and oily at the same time. I only use it in conjunction with two deeply moisturising serums over the weekend now, just to finish off the bottle, but I’m not sure it’s even worth this.
If you’re looking for a super lightweight balancing emulsion for oily/combo skin try O HUI Clinic Science Full Medi Moisturizer instead. It’s more expensive but it actually does deliver moisture to oily skin and balance it out. Even though it also leaves a slight shiny residue, at the same time it really helps keep oil at bay and it’s fantastic in conjunction with light serums / essences (and great for underneath makeup).
