This is an elegant emulsion that appears light at application with a “transforming nature”. It will release the oils emulsified “appearing” as a serum and then settle into a thicker, more perceptible elegant emulsion.
While it takes some knowledge and experiment to achieve this, this moisturizer contains very little of structural ingredients or actives.
The only noteworthy ones are Meadowfoam Seed Oil, a triglyceride that has skin repairing ability and an elegant finish. Panthenol, vitamin B5, a soothing anti-inflammatory ingredient with documented effect.
Some additional natural oils in very small quantities and the three rose extracts (Rose Extract, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil, Rosa Centifolia Flower Extract), one is oil soluble. This might actually have some beneficial effect on soothing (and nourishing) of the skin.
It also contains L’Oreal’s patented active Hydroxypropyl Tetrahydropyrantriol (Proxylane) that has documented effect on lines and the surface quality of the skin. It is at 1% concentration.
(In Vichy’s Neovadiol Serum you will find it at 3% concentration for one-sixth of the price.)
For this price-range, one would expect more.
However, this can be a good choice for people with sensitive skin at any age, temperate climate or as a lighter (night) cream.
It contains fragrance, although the fragrance will not linger for long.
I find it a bit too oily, not absorbing while leaving a perceptible oily shine on the face. This lasts even under make-up.
