   Launched in the autumn 2012, it has been one of the bestselling moisturizers of La Mer.
   The structure is similar and closer to the original Moisturizing Lotion.

   The formula slightly changed lately by replacing the hydrogenated vegetable oil with Cyclohexasiloxane and Glyceryl Triacetyl Ricinoleate and adding the rich Macadamia Integrifolia Seed Oil.

   The result is an even more cocooning moisturizer that still feels light(er) at application, however it leaves a more perceptible residue after application than the previous version.

   It contains a wide array of actives (anti-oxidants, DNA-repairing enzymes, peptides). These are unchanged, unless the amount has been reduced throughout the years.

   This moisturizer still contains the Miracle Broth (fermented seaweed from Giant Kelp harvested at the coast of California and fermented for 3-4 months with the added minerals, vitamins and different seed powders and oils of lime and eucalyptus. These will be only in trace amount in the final product though.)
   Estee Lauder Co. claims in studies conducted last year that this fermented seaweed-blend has exceptionally strong anti-inflammatory effect.

   Seaweed in itself is an excellent moisturizer (since it is a polysaccharide) and retains moisture in the skin over time (just like another well known polysaccharide, Hyaluronic Acid.)

   I find The Moisturizing Soft Crème to be very well hydrating, having the possibility to restore tired, devitalized skin in matter of hours.
   I wish they had a lighter version for the summer months (preferably packaged in a pump) and the newer version (that is a tad richer than the original Soft Cream was in 2012) with a bit less satiny finish and less tacky at application.

   The product absorbs well into the skin after application and almost undetectable on the skin (if you have drier skin). I have used it in the winter, spring and autumn times since 2012 and find it adequately hydrating and easier to use it during the day compared to the original Moisturizing Creme.

   Comparing it to the original Moisturizing Lotion, it is very similar with a bit more “wrapping”, but definitely more elegant and lighter than The Moisturizing Soft Lotion, which is the replacement of The Moisturizing Lotion.

   One interesting fact, the Estee Lauder Co. has reused their formula structure used for the Estee Lauder 100% Release Moisturizing Creme in 1998 (which originated from the EL 100% Time Release Lotion in 1996) and has built The Moisturizing Lotion, The Moisturizing Soft Creme, The Moisturizing Soft Lotion and countless other moisturizers from MAC on the same structure.

   I tried a sample. The fragrance was very strong, like a heavy classic perfume, and it lingered for a long time. That alone would make me not buy this. It felt heavy on my face. I prefer a moisturizer that absorbs into the skin so you can’t tell it’s there. I didn’t have any adverse reactions, no bumps or itching or anything. The photo on my sample packet shows this product comes in a jar which many believe can lead to product contamination and it’s a little messier than a tube or bottle dispenser. If I loved everything about this I might splurge once a year and buy this pricey moisturizer, but there’s nothing here I want.

   I don’t find this to be hydrating at all; it sits as a greasy layer on top of my skin. I think the fragrance irritates my skin because after I apply it, I get red bumps on my cheeks. It’s much too expensive for what it does

   La Mer’s Soft Cream is not for my skin type, which isn’t dry. When tested on hands, the product spread easily and did not feel thick. On my face, it’s another story: I felt suffocated by a filmy layer, and I got whiteheads the same day I used it. I expected a heavy product with La Mer, but I didn’t expect to feel comfortable. Because of that film, and the fact that this isn’t all that moisturizing, it’s probably best who need a certain kind of occlusive or whose face is sucked dry by actives.

   I have mixed reviews about this product, especially as it is so pricey. Like many people I wanted to experience the hype surrounding it and so I bought it for my birthday as a treat to myself. I was assured that the creme in question would brighten up my face, get rid of any unwanted pigmentation, acne scars and even spots. So stupidly, I expected this product to be a miracle worker by rectifying years of battling acne and the scars left behind. After cleansing my face, I would apply this cream only at night as i felt it was a bit heavy and oily to apply before my make up in the morning. Though my skin was a lot smoother than before, my face did not look brighter nor did it really get rid of the pigmentation. I may have given it a better review if it was far cheaper, but for its price tag I don’t recommend it. lemon and peppermint essential oil and a home made exfoliator does far more than this product. Save your coins!!!

   I bought this actually hoping it would NOT work. I wanted this to suck because of the price tag, but I always wake up with youthful glowing skin. I don’t think I’ll keep repurchasing though because of the steep price tag. I just can’t justify it.

   Okay, hear me out. This moisturiser is awesome. I received a sample of it expecting to fully hate it, because the ingredients list is full of things I normally avoid: petrochemicals, fragrance, silicones, shea butter, and other things that have always broken me out in the past. I don’t know what makes this concoction different. It costs an arm and a leg. It’s in a jar. It’s everything I hate, but my skin loves it. For reference, my skin is extremely reactive and sensitive, dry, and acne prone due to hormonal issues. While I have serums I love, I have been struggling to find a cream that could properly seal in all those actives and prevent water loss, but also wouldn’t break me out. I was skipping foundation not because my skin looked good but because it was too flakey and rough textured no matter what I did. Enter La Mer. After a month of use (because I ran out and bought a small jar when that sample emptied), my skin is even toned, clear, hydrated, and healthy, and it stays that way all day and all night even in these wintry, dry conditions. I can’t sing enough praises. Now I’m skipping foundation because I straight up don’t need it. Everything else in my routine is cheap as chips (it’s basically all The Ordinary serums and oils, CeraVe and Bioderma cleansers, plus an Avene sunscreen for day) so I feel I can justify splurging on this cream. All in all, if you have really confused skin that struggles to maintain balance, see if you can nab a sample of this moisturiser. You might love it, in which case I would like to pre-apologize to your wallet.

   Chanel Sublimage Texture Fine is much better at this price range! This is just boring, moisturiser yes but not much more. At this price you expect complete change, that isn’t the case at all… soooo boring!

   Best skincare treatment / creme and worth every single penny. If you have not used this creme, soft creme, gel, lotion, oil absorbing lotion, or matte lotion for six months you have not experienced any of the true benefits of La Mer. I would bathe in Creme de La Mer if I could afford such luxury, but I will continue using a dime size amount three times per day (at minimum).

   Sorry, but some skincare treatments are slightly costly and provide impeccable overall radiance, healthy skin, and long-term positive results. If all an individual can state is that La Mer is “too expensive” then you are only looking at one aspect of the Creme. Just look into research by La Mer / Estée Lauder that explains and describes topical benefits.

    I tried the original first, and felt it to be too heavy. So disappointing. It does not make my skin smooth, broke me out, I’m 54, expensive, and I hate the smell. This line must have cult followers because I have no idea who would buy it.????
