I loved this sponge initially. The shape, the performance but unfortunately after the third washing it started to tear.

Amazing brought this 3 difference times. It’s the best drugstore sponge. I prefer this over the real techniques sponge . It also last much longer and doesn’t fall apart. Definitely recommend this beauty sponge

ETA: 12.30.2018 – i have been using a new one of these this month (replace monthly) that I just grabbed from the store and have been using it for the whole month, washing it daily– not a single tear in the sponge. I think EcoTools may have tweaked these to be more sturdy compared to when I reviewed these in July 2018, because all my prior ones started to tear only after a few uses but this one is still in pristine condition. Big plus!!! So these are a staple in my routine as well as the RT sponge. These are softer than most. I wash daily with plain Dawn blue 99 cent kitchen soap (breaks down the oils).

I just bought this the other day, and went right back to buy another.
This is a great sponge. It’s SUPER soft, and does not absorb much product and also washes out GREAT. The only downside, I’ve had it barely a week and it’s already got 2 cracks in the foam. I don’t mind because it’s so cheap and so soft. I tred this sponge a year ago and it was really stiff, so they must have updated the product because it’s completely opposite of what I remember. I do also use the RT sponge, and like that one, too – but I think it’s fun to switch back and forth.
I have tried the beautyblender – HORRIBLE. Waste of money and regretted the purchase the day I used it. Do not be suckered into trying one of them like I did. Ugh.

I second what the last reviewer said. This sponge is the most versatile shape with a round end for bouncing, two flat surfaces for smoothing, and ‘tips’ that allow application in tight facial areas. It is exceptionally soft but does not absorb (waste) as much product as most sponges I have previously used. The cost is reasonable and it has held up well for me with many different products.

I can’t believe there are only 3 reviews of this blending sponge on here! It’s so good. I’d tried many different beauty sponges & thought that I’d found “the one”. But the quality of that one seemed to decrease each time I purchased it (which became more & more frequently, because a brand of sponge that once lasted for months started falling apart in a few weeks). This sponge has replaced that one in my routine though & I’m happy about it… this green sponge is way better than that orange one ever was.
This blending sponge has a shape that makes it easy to reach areas like the inner corners of my eyes, etc. It’s not too hard or too soft & it expands nicely when dampened. I find that it doesn’t soak up a crazy amount of foundation like some sponges do. Gives a flawlessly blended look. Super easy to clean – just one pump of antibacterial hand soap, rub it into the sponge, then squeeze out repeatedly… & it looks good as new. Also I like the fact that it comes with a metal stand that you can store it on if you want to. I don’t use it but I’ve never seen any other blending sponge come with that.
The best thing about this product is the price. It’s $4.99 & in my experience is very easy to find in stores. This sponge lasts forever too. I’ve had mine for 6 months & while there’s a tiny bit of wear on one side, I’m not planning on replacing it any time soon… it still works perfectly. I will buy another one when I need to though. I’m done trying lots of blending sponges because I’ve found one that performs exactly how I want it to. Hopefully this product doesn’t become super popular to the point where they start raising the price & lowering the quality.

UPDATE 5/23/2018: I tried Real Techniques diamond sponge and was so disappointed. i went to Walmart and bought this sponge again. The second one is much better texture wise and will last longer.
ORIGINAL: I purchased this after watching a YouTube person compared it to the real techniques sponge. They preferred this over Real Techniques.
I like the multiple sides and angles on this sponge which does take some practice to figure out, but on first use my makeup looked airbrushed. I was so thrilled. It is very soft and I feel like I use less foundation.
I won’t purchase this again because the quality it not as good as Real Techniques. After 1 wash, it lost some of the sponge material. I usually repurchase Real Techniques sponge every 3 months, this will not make it.

I bought this because of some good reviews on YouTube and the price. It doesn’t last as long as other sponges. I feel like it soaks up more product than other drugstore sponges. It’s just not that great and I won’t repurchase. I prefer the Real Techniques sponge better

I bought this at target because it was cheap, under $4. It looks nice in the packaging, it’s an eye catching bright green and I wont lie..that’s a big reason I got it.
I don’t really buy into the hype of the original beautyblenders. I’ve had them but honestly don’t think they made that big of a difference compared to my real techniques sponges. The ecotools sponge is very soft and expands quite a lot when wet, but my nails end up tearing it every single time no matter how careful I am. I’ve used it three times and it looks much older than it actually is.
Also, it doesn’t blend as well as my other sponges. I have to put a lot more work into getting a flawless finish than I usually do. It also absorbs a ton of product, even when damp. It just isn’t for me considering it’s only about a dollar cheaper than real techniques. Be sure to wash it with soap before use if you weren’t going to do that already. The dye bleeds on the first wash, so if you were to just wet it and use it you might end up with a green tinted face.
