I love the original Beauty Blender. Have been using it for years now, but sometimes I wonder whether I want to spend 20 USD every other month on a makeup tool. After all there are Japanese brushes that cost the same and I do not have to replace them so often.
Long story short, after trying multiple sponges, I came across the “L’oreal Blender”. It certainly has a different shape and feel to it; it is smoother than the Real Techniques sponge, but also soaks up way too much water when you wash it. You do need to give it a good squeeze beforehand and I would suggest using a towel for that (there will be a lot of water!). It also soaks up more foundation than my Beauty Blender, but having said that – there are certain, heavier formulas that I don’t mind sheering out a bit. This sponge does a great job at spreading the product and if you pinch the tip, then you can easily blend out your concealer too (but I must say that I wish the tip was sharper, not as chubby).
Having said all that, this sponge is easy to clean and it is quite durable. I think this is a lovely drugstore discovery and if you want to see more comparisons, check out my original review here ( I think L’oreal did a great job.
