I have no idea what the AHA percentage is in here (and nor will PTR ever disclose to me) but the enzymatic effect from the Pumpkin really smooths out the texture of my skin and gives it a ‘renewed’ appearance. AHA alone doesn’t have quite the same effect on me. I massage this gently into my skin for about 30 seconds and then allow it to sit for about 5 minutes. Whenever I mask, I use a scrub first, otherwise what’s the point if there’s a layer of dead skin in the way? With this one it already contains aluminium oxide crystals so whilst massaging it in, the dead skin cells are removed and the mask works a lot better, plus saving me the extra step. Yes it is a powerful mask and I cannot leave it on for longer than 5 minutes or else my face starts to itch unbearably. Smells like pumpkin and cinnamon – good enough to eat and contains a number of good ingredients – such as Vit A (Retinol) and Vit C.
A bit spendy yes, but worth it and infinitely better results using this compared to their ‘Cucumber gel masque’.

I studied the heck out of this after getting a sample from Sephora.
Oh my goodness.
Cleansed, wet finger tips and massaged all over my face, neck and chest. For some reason I felt no tingling at all, waited 10 minutes, went finger tips again, massaged it for about a minute, washed it off and was SHOOK. I’ve just put on Apot.care Hyalu Repair Serum and will put on a hydration over night mask before I go to bed. I’m so hooked I went on Trademe (a popular auction site in New Zealand) just for shits and giggles and found a brand new 50ml for $30.00 and purchased it immediately, thought I’d try there first before looking to pay full price.
I have been using Dr Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Extra Strength Daily Perls for a few months and was hooked, but after using this I am convinced it’s way better, will be sure to only limit to twice a week (it’ll be hard).
I have normal skin and are blessed to have no acne. Hitting 40 and tiny fine lines along with a skin brightener made me use this.

This did nothing for my skin except itch and irritate for a few days afterwards. No brightness, no smoothness, skin looked a bit duller and rougher afterward. It was as if I hadn’t done anything to my skin. I’m surprised as my skin usually responds well to any type of exfoliant (chemical or physical), acids and enzyme treatments, even the stronger ones. Maybe it was the pumpkin pie scent that irritated my skin? It smells really nice, but very strong. Since its expensive I’d suggest getting a sample first to see if it suits you. Not even the highest rated product is going to suit everyone.

This is, hands-down, my favorite mask I have ever used. It makes a clear, visible difference in my skin and it’s one of the few masks I’ve tried that is definitely worth the price. For reference, I have dry/dehydrated skin with large pores, hormonal acne and scarring on my chin, and decent sized sebaceous filaments on my nose.
I’ve tried a lot of masks in my time. Due to my skin type, I typically go for gentle, daily chemical exfoliators with a hydrating type mask. While the hydrating masks are nice, they typically aren’t more than a moisturizer on steroids. I’ve tried an incredible amount of mud masks hoping I’d find “the one”, but I find all they really do is dry my skin out and make it angry. This mask, however, is an incredible way to add a boost to your exfoliating regimen without drying it out. It also brightens my skin a lot and gives it a “glow” I haven’t seen with my weaker daily exfoliators. It has a very gentle physical exfoliator in it, just enough to leave my skin baby smooth but not enough to make it feel roughed up. The AHAs also really help if I know my period is coming up and I want to minimize my breakouts, or if I have active breakouts that I want cleared up. It definitely helps shorten the lifespan of bigger blemishes and helps prevent them from scarring too much.
Some tips for application- when you put this on you can definitely feel a tingle from the AHAs, it stung a bit the first time I used it (I’m more of a BHA user) but I got adjusted to it by the 3rd or 4th use. I only leave it on for about 5-8 minutes, basically once the tingling stops and I can feel it start to “set” (i.e. it’s not so goopy and it starts to get a slightly dried out film on top). Don’t leave it on for longer- because of the acids in the mask, it could give you a chemical burn. When applying, it spreads really nicely and doesn’t make a complete mess of your hands. It does take a bit of work to get off, but it helps to give the physical exfoliant time to be buffed into the skin. I also enjoy the pumpkin scent, it’s not crazy strong but it’s definitely there and you can smell it the whole time it’s on.
Until I used this mask, I thought masks were just sort of a gimmicky “treat yo self” product that made it seem like you were doing more for your skin than you really were- but this really changed my mind. This is the perfect mask to perk up dull, tired skin or to tackle an oncoming breakout. It is a bit on the pricey side, but you get a ton of product that I don’t see myself running out of any time soon (and I’ve already had it for about 8 months). If you’re on the market for a brightening or exfoliating mask, definitely give this one a try.

I have been using REN’s Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask as my “peel” and while I’ve enjoyed it because it leaves my skin glowing, I wanted to try something a bit difference.
This mask is the color of canned pumpkin, and smells like it, too. It comes in a giant tub. It has a jelly like consistency and interspersed are tiny microdermabrasion crystals. I put a little dollop on my face and within seconds, it burns a little and feels warm (more so if I have used retinoids or lactic acid recently). I leave it on for about five minutes, then gently scrub, taking advantage of the crystals, for an additional minute. Then I rinse off and my skin looks clean, radiant, even-toned, and GLOWING! I like to use this twice a week, usually before I want to look my best!
I got this at Costco.com for around 35 bucks and was astonished by the size. Seems weird that a face mask is so generously sized at FIVE ounces. I swear, this thing will last me years. I have been using it twice weekly for three months and the jar could still pass off as unused! You only need a half grape sized dollop for your whole face. This makes the mask an EXCELLENT value.

I purchased this product and I used it twice a week at first it felt great. Then my face turned red and now is peeling. I need to know what I can do. My face is red and throbbing can someone help me?? I have to say I would not buy it again.

Let me start off saying I usually don’t even like facial scrubs of any kind. However this scrub has shown immediate results in my dehydrated skin. It’s not harsh at all and smells good too. I purchased the insta-mask kit so I don’t know the actual price but I love it.

Holy grail mask! The amazing yummy scent of pumpkin pie is so delicious I want to eat it. My skin is so soft and smooth and looks radiant after just leaving this on for 5-7 minutes. I can see the results right away after I’ve rinsed it off. It helps with the congestion I get in my pores and in lightening old acne marks. I use it once a week and it is worth every penny. I follow up with using a hydrating moisturizer.

As per Sephora, “[t]his powerful, triple-action, manual, chemical, and enzymatic exfoliating treatment addresses a dull, aging, and congested complexion in three ways: it exfoliates with pumpkin enzyme, reveals with alpha hydroxy acid, and polishes with aluminum oxide crystals. It also helps even the appearance of skin tone, smooth the look of fine lines and wrinkles, and clarify to reveal skin that looks smoother, younger, radiant, and revitalized.”
After using it for about 5 months or so, I can say yes to all of the above. This mask (or “Enzymatic Dermal Resurfacer,” if you prefer) smells exactly like pumpkin pie and has the finest exfoliators that I can feel as I apply it to my face. When I smooth it on, it begins to tingle — not uncomfortably for me, but those with more sensitive skin might want to spot test first. I usually leave it on for longer than the packaging recommends (it says 3 – 7 minutes, but again, I think this depends on how painful it might start to feel for you) before I hop in the shower and let the steam work away at it for a bit longer before I massage it in with circular motions as I rinse it off. The next morning I wake up to baby smooth and glowing skin. For reference, I used to have really oily skin in my teens and twenties, and now it’s evened out a bit to a more combination skin that is prone to hormonal breakouts. I’m sensitive in particular to heavily fragranced products and things chock-a-block with silicones (also, a very specific skin type barometer: Olay moisturizers always work for me but their cleansers always break me out. It’s a mess). If you’re my skin type doppelganger, this mask is for you!
It is fairly expensive ($58 USD for 5 ounces), but if it’s any consolation, I’ve barely touched a quarter of the amount in the jar and I’ve been using it for almost half a year now; a little definitely goes a long way with this. It’s the most expensive mask that I’ve used, but it’s also the most effective one I own. At the rate this is going, this jar will last me until November when Sephora’s sale rolls around again, and I can stock up on my yearly supply at a discounted rate.

I am a everyday masker with combination oily acne prone skin. My first impression of this product was it’s amazing pumpkin pie scent that literally smells good enough to lick off, lol.
Secondly, the texture is great. Perfect for exfoliation. When I finished applying it it had a tiny bit of tingle to it, which I love. Don’t let that tingle word scare you, it’s nothing intense. Its actually quite nice and feels as though it’s working, IMO.
After sitting for 5 minutes I rinsed and I instantly felt a big difference. My skin was amazingly soft, like my one year old daughters bottom soft! Even my husband who doesn’t really notice anything said I looked as if I was glowing!
Since then I have been using this mask 2x per week (and I would use it more if manufactures directions didn’t discourage it) and I continue to see and feel results each time. Now I keep it on for 10-15 minutes and see wonderful results.
Many people comment on the price tag of this mask. So I want to touch on that quickly. It is definitely pricey. BUT the jar will last you a VERY long time. I will be repurchasing when I run out.
I would recommend this and several other PTR masks to everyone!
