Reckless advertising and overzealous reviewers might trick you into believing a mask is a necessary, miracle, cure-all step to perfect skin. The truth? Masks are originally made to maintain the skin until the next facial and they’re meant to be used 1-3 times a week. I don’t get facials but long story short, this works for me. I get a boost of hydration that, in conjunction with my next step, helps keep flakes away and brings back a sort of bounce. I don’t know if the glow is cosmetic (maybe some powder added to give luminosity?) but it makes me skin look bright and healthy. I love using it around my period and when my skin is compromised from the winter or a cold.
So, if your skin is in good condition, you regularly exfoliate, and you use this once or twice a week, you will see results. BR does not deal in quick fixes (at home chemical peels for that solution) and insists on using every step from the line. That’s a no from me. If you’re looking for upkeep and not expecting a miracle you can only get with a disciplined routine, then get this. I’ll repurchase but if I had a more limited budget, this mask or any mask would be last on my list.

I was expecting miracles because of the price point and the way in which this came recommended to me, but I find the results utterly disappointing. It’s a white cream (barely there scent, surprising for BR) that you’re supposed to spread in a thick layer all over face, including the eyes and the lips, wait for 15-20 minutes, then gently wipe off to reveal hydrated, smooth glowing skin. It’s seriously nothing to write home about. My skin looks just the same as before using this. It’s almost as if I had done nothing to my skin, there’s no effect whatsoever. It claims to hydrate the epidermis, diminish dark circles and smooth the skin, but…nothing. I get better results with Korean or Japanese sheet masks, or if I want to be blown away, I try an SK-II mask for instant brightness (temporary, though). The Suqqu Hydrating Mask is another little miracle worker for perfected skin before parties. But this? No, sir. I regret spending so much money on it and I highly recommend getting samples before making the splurge.

I just started using this mask and wished I would’ve started using it a year ago. It leaves my skin soft and moisturized. My face just looks nice and fresh after I use it! A little bit goes a long way (it costs $138) It has not caused any breakouts or issues. I will update this review if it does.
I also have tried mixing it with Masque Vivant (2/3 masque vivant and 1/3 masque VIP 02) and although it works fine, I prefer using them separately. It is probably all in my head but i just feel like it is better to use each mask on its own.
Also, this doesn’t have the funky smell that a lot of BR products have! Lately, I’ve noticed that is difficult to find the ingredients list for most BR products. Which is unfortunate since they do not accept returns and are usually on the pricey-side. I’ve added the ingredients list to this review.
