Love the chocolaty scent, but this didn’t do anything for my skin. Removing it was a pain, and since it’s brown/mud-colored, it was particularly unpleasant. Felt like I came out of a mine or something.

Pretty good clay mask. It is quite hard/stubborn to remove. True to its word it smells chocolatey. There’s enough in the packet for one and a half face masks (including covering neck) although it’s not resealable, you can clip it across the top with a clip. I personally prefer the fruity/herbal/other ones. I find them more relaxing. I know the clay in this helps my skin a little.

My skin type is normal-dry , not sensitive and no acne, only occasional breakouts. I love MJ masks for several reasons- 1)They are cheap 2) They come in individual, one use packets 3) there are 99999 different types, for all needs and skin types..
This one in particular I purchased in a one-use packet. The product went on smooth and smells exactly like chocolate! Its a very indulgent mask for a spa night or facial. It does have a touch of that fake chocolate smell so if you are sensitive to that, I wouldn’t go for this one. While on, this didnt provide any sort of tingling, warming, etc.- just the chocolate smell. Removal was a bit messy, just because there was brown water everywhere, but afterwards my skin feels soft and tight, and very clean. Thumbs up in my book!

I was really dubious about this at first – it looked and smelled disgusting. I know it’s a chocolate masque, so I was expecting it to smell sweet (keep in mind that I hate sweet fragrances)… but it just smelled extremely artificial and gross. Despite this, I used the mask anyways – I slathered it on my face. The directions say to wait for about 10 minutes but I watched a little TV while I was waiting and went over time… I’d say I left it on for about 25 minutes.
I washed it off in the shower right after and did my usual shower routine and stuff, but I was pretty amazed by the results after my shower. I don’t know if it was because I had really low expectations or what, but my skin felt really really moisturized.
The masque says it’s made for people with dry skin (like me) so it definitely gets a thumbs up from me.

LOVE THIS ! It makes your skin so soft and looks renewed when you take it off . It smells really good & I even noticed my breakouts (which I’ve had a lot of lately) looked smaller and less angry . I’ve also been having a horrible time with dryness and this just erased all of that. It’s easy to put on & you can feel it working . It does take much more time to dry then it says tho, close to 30 minutes . Only really downside is it’s a pain to get off you have to wash it off a good three times to get it all off, and it will turn your sink brown so makes sure to rinse it out . Other than that tho, it’s great ! Left my skin feeling soft, fresh & clean.

Update I woke up this morning after using this last night and all of my breakouts are either gone or have gone down significantly.

I used to like this mask because I felt like it drew out impurities. The problem with it is, it dried out my skin too much and caused my pores to break out. Everytime I tried it my skin became worse and gave me issues. If you have sensitive skin you should skip this.

Can’t believe I’d never tried these cheap, lovely face masks before! I’ve been looking for an alternative to Lush’s face masks which expire within a couple of weeks, whereas I can keep these in the bathroom cabinet and use them when I need them. So of course, I bought a stack of different flavours – at £1 each it’s just crazy not to.
The chocolate one is amazing – it really does smell like delicious chocolate. Although you can get more than one use from a pack, I used the whole thing all over my face. It did take longer to dry than the pack specified but at least my face and neck were covered generously and evenly. When the mask colour turns from a dark brown to a lighter brown, it’s ready to wash off. My skin felt soft, clean and lovely afterwards – it did a great job of cleaning out my pores and conditioning my skin. The only downside is the mess afterwards – although it does wash out of towels, it will look like someone has violently defecated all over the bathroom. Despite being very careful it ended up all over and down the side of the sink which I had to clean up with bathroom wipes afterwards.
A very effective, gorgeous-smelling mask for a great price – ideal to use on an evening in to revitalise your skin. I’ll be trying out all the other flavours next..

One of my favorites. I feel this deserves it’s own category so people can compare this individual mask as some of the others have their own as well. I don’t have a moisturizer that I can trust currently, so I grabbed this because it said it was detoxifying and hydrating. It’s no joke!! I felt so great! Cheap, easy, the package even has a tear off corner so you get out just as much as you want without waste. I think this is one of my new favorite masks! And I love that it is vegetarian. Love it.
Update: I know I made this category and I loved this mask (as well as a few other moisturizing ones) but I just have to add – be really careful when using other drying products like Rx, you can seriously over dry your skin even with these ‘moisturizing’ ones. Since I stopped using the drying perscriptions I was on and let my skin heal, I can go back to these masks once in a while or as a spot treatment (like for the dead sea one because that’s REALLY drying). The drying ones seem to pull the blackheads up and then you sort of are stuck with them there. I want something that gets rid of them, or stops them from coming since I am a picker and if I see a whole bunch of them it won’t end well for my skin. 🙁 Some do moisturize well and that’s fantastic if you need it for cheap. They probably won’t transform your skin but as long as you don’t overdo it, they’re a nice addition. I do feel more comfortable using this one than the coconut one which I bought, but I’m too scared it will clog me. I haven’t seen the chocolate one recently but did see the Mint Chocolate Chip one which I liked as well, but that one does dry on the skin. They both improve softness though.
