Right after trying the M-B-D ‘Black Pearl Mask’ I gave these a try (for the in-depth MBD sheet mask experience please take a look at my previous review). The only thing I noted of difference between the two was that the Apple Polyphenol mask was better at calming down any blemishes and reducing pores ever so slightly (any degree of shrinkage is good in my books!). Just like the other sheet mask I tried, it’s nicely hydrating and gives a slight glow to my complexion. Likewise I can skip the night moisturizer on the evenings when I apply this.
I wasn’t too keen on the fragrance of this one (reminded me slightly of ACV) but for the positive effects on my skin I would definitely consider re-purchasing once my current box runs out.

This is a great inexpensive sheet mask. I do like it for hydration. I do feel like it calms redness and blemishes. I don’t notice a pore minimizing effect. I also do not like the fragrance. But you really can’t beat the price. That being said, I would not repurchase solely because I prefer the black pearl mask.
How I use: I put on a layer of klairs toner, followed by snail essence. Then do this mask on top. I usually leave it on for close to an hour. I pat in the rest of the essence and then top off with my lotion. I feel like putting on a lotion on top really helps to seal in the essence. When I have not put on lotion after the mask, I don’t like the results as much. The next morning I wake up to fresh glowing skin. I sheet mask about once a week.

I use this at night and my complexion looks even, skin looks fresh and not too greasy the next day. This and the MBD Strawberry Yoghurt masks are HGs for oily-skinned girls like me. I’ll definitely repurchase if I can find it (seems like they’ve discontinued this).

I was very pleasantly surprised at this product. It made my oily face with open pores and blemishes look much clearer and smoother after just ONE application!! I have sensitive skin, and am always prepared to feel a certain amount of discomfort after applying a new product for the first time. But I needn’t have felt apprehensive about this mask. It stayed put without slipping, or dripping into my eyes, and came off easily without pulling or tugging, after the recommended 30 mins. The smell was pleasant and not at all overwhelming. This is definitely going to be a part of my daily routine!

ONE OF MY FAVORITE SHEET MASK!
HG level! Here’s my story:
I don’t usually have pimples before, but early last year they started showing up every menstrual period. 1-3 pimples shows up, BIG and takes a looong time to heal.. like just when it started to heal another one shows up. Found out it was hormonal acne. I was freaking out, soon after a couple of months my face seems to be full of acne scars too!
I started using acne fighting sheet masks. Most of them are meh and/or has temporary effect. Until I came across the black pearl MBD sheet mask last december. The one that has 5 sheets in a luxurious box. I love it immediately! It is the kind of sheet mask I would like to use when I really want to get pretty before a big event. Anyway, found out there are cheaper MBD mask, and Apple Polyphenol has good reviews and I’m soo glad I tried it!
I used this every night for a week, then every other night, and now down to twice a week. Before I started using this mask I had 4 active pimples and lots of dark spots, now my face is clear of pimples and scars are almost fading! Small bumps also minimize, I feel like my face is starting to get smoother and clearer. It could be because of some of my skincare routine but this mask surely is a big help!
Also the pack is full of essences so I make sure to transfer the excess to a container and apply it always after toner morning and night when I don’t have to use the sheet mask.
I still use the black pearl one once a week though, just to pamper my skin. Also tried the bird’s nest but I like the apple polyphenol more. This mask is worth the price and for me it is true to its promise! I will always repurchase until I am fully clear of acne and its scars!

These costs $10-$12 at my local asian super market. The apple mask is my favorite so far. It’s doesn’t irritate my skin and it controls oil even up until the next day. I used this in place of moisturizer after I wash and exfoliate in the shower. I’ve even notice that my skin/acne scars get brighter after using it. Don’t know if I’m imagining this, can’t say I’ve read that these masks claim to brighten any scars.
I haven’t really like the other mask I’ve tried for my beauty diary (the Aloe one and the Hydration one, they weren’t as great as the apple one).
If you are looking for a facial mask for oily acne prone skin, try this one.

These are really great masks! I thought they weren’t going to be effective at all, just moisturize or break me out and that’s it, but I was mistaken!
IF YOU LIVE IN THE HOUSTON AREA: I got a pack of these at 99 Ranch Market for $15, they have a decent selection of MBD masks, I recently picked up the Lemon Vit-c mask from there that’s on sale for $9.99. (They also carry DHC & Hada Labo, along with the Skin79 BBs)
Anyways…. I have a bad habit of picking anyyyy bump I see on my face, or any pimple with the slightest white head, making everything worse! If I accidentally get myself into a picking spree and I’m all red and blotchy I’ll slap one of these on at night & leave on for 45min-1hr and once I take them off I immediately see a reduction in redness and my skin looks brighter, once the remaining essence sinks in my skin is hydrated and calmed.
The sheet itself is nice and thin and fits perfectly on my face, (it’s the newer MBD masks) and the essence is thin and actually skins into my skin instead of feeling gross and sitting on my skin, there is so much essence that I put the rest literally everywhere!!!
I really enjoy these and I only have one left and I want to buy more!!!
Sheet masks are truly a gateway drug to AB.

Comes in packs of 10 and where i live it costs about $15 so its a pretty good value. Packaging wise these masks are nice because the cotton is folded in a plastic to help keep the serum in the mask. When you take it out, unlike some other brands there isn’t an overwhelming amount of serum leftover inside the packaging. Fits the face nicely and smells like apples which I personally like.
Having big pores around my nose and on my nose, i noticed and immediate difference in the pore size however it doesn’t last long. Within two days i noticed my pores had reverted back to the same size. I’ve gone through 8 of the masks so far, using them every 3-4 days (twice a week) and it still reverts back so it’s not long term. However I didn’t expect it to work that well and still like using them for when i do foundation+concealer makeup the next morning to kind of keep it from getting deep in my pores.
Overall good packing, fit, decent value, and i enjoy the effects of the mask even if it a little short lived.

I bought 4 MBD masks from a local Asian cosmetic store (4 for $5). The fit of masks is the better than Tony Moly’s. They are both hydrating. The masks are dripping with excess essence. They are easy to unfold thanks to the plastic piece. They clings to your face. I used the Apple Polyphenol and Damask Rose. I like the apple one a lot better than the rose one. The apple one smells like apple and my skin does not have negative reactions to it. It does not make my pores smaller like it advertised. The Damask Rose one smells floral and makes my skin itch. I currently have 3 itchy small red bumps on my face thanks to the Dasmask Rose one.

The first night i tried this, i could see visible results. My pores did tighten and evens out my skin tone. The results lasted for few days so wearing this twice a week would be just fine. Apart from all the pore tightening mask i’ve tried, this one leaves a tingling and itching sensation after use. Which means your pores are tightening the moment you peel off your mask. There might a little bit of redness too but its only for awhile! I blot everyday and the oil on my blotting sheets got much lesser. Will definitely repurchase 2 or 3 more boxes at one go!
