Essence brand mascaras are great. Especially for their very affordable price point. I purchased this mascara because I wanted a long lasting waterproof mascara and didn’t want to spend a fortune, but also wanted a waterproof mascara that was relatively easy to remove with makeup remover. After trying their Lash Princess Waterproof mascara (see my other review), I decided to try this. This is what I’ve been looking for. It has a slightly curved wand with regular bristles that is nice to use and nicely lengthens and separates my lashes. It seems to curl them without the use of a lash curler and it doesn’t leave smears or smudges under my eyes. It wears all day and it is mostly waterproof. I say “mostly” because there is some darkness under the eyes when exposed to full-on water (like swimming), but for regular wear it will withstand tears or a rainy day. I haven’t tried it while doing a rigorous workout, so I can’t comment on the ‘gym proof’ claim of this mascara, but for everyday wear with nice defined lashes and curl, I’m giving this two thumbs up. Also, you just can’t beat the price. Essence brand mascara really give all those expensive high-end mascara a good run for their money. Why pay more when you don’t have to?
